Blog Tour ~ Review, Excerpt, Playlist & Giveaway! ~ More Than Her (More 2) by Jay McLean

 Book Description:

For every action there is an equal or opposite reaction."
For every choice you make there are rewards,
or there are consequences.

It was my choice to walk away the first time.
And my choice to chase her the second.
But sometimes you don't get a choice,
and all you get are the consequences.”

"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.”

Unless that someone is Logan Matthews.
Because loving him didn't give me
the strength to walk away.
It didn't give me
the courage to fight for him.
And when it was over, all it gave me was a broken heart.

“And this - this is the moment I knew what it felt like to lose everything I never had.”

I was so looking forward to this book. After stumbling across More Than This purely by chance and totally and utterly falling in love with the story and the writing, the prospect of Logan’s story had me itching. We knew his was going to be the next in line after the closing lines of More Than This had us all going What The Hell!!!!! But who would be the “Her” in More Than Her???

Logan was far from the settling kind of guy, never having a serious relationship in his life. Unfortunately for him his reputation precedes him and when he finally realises that he wants more, will the “her” see past the reputation and give him a chance? For Logan loving isn’t easy so when he puts himself out there he is really taking a chance and putting himself and his heart on the line. Having not experienced a relationship before you just know he is going to muck it up and he does, but are they strong enough to get through?

“I hate him. I hate him. I hate him. I hate him so fucking much, I want to push him up against the wall and punch him in the face. And then I want to lick it. Then rip his fucking shirt off and finger his abs while he does that annoyingly manly chuckle that I love. I hate him. Stupid Fucking Logan Fucking Matthews.”

At the beginning of this story we are treated to a series of flashbacks that cover some of the story of More Than This and it was so interesting to see this through another POV. You really got to see a different side to Logan and his relationships with the other characters in More Than This. I adored this back tracking.

To get to the point of a first date was a hard task for Logan, he had a lot of convincing to do and eventually has to resort to underhand tactics to get the date. The chemistry these two have is seriously smoking and as first dates go, you just knew that they were so suited. So why oh why does he go and balls it up and over something so stupid…it seriously peed me off. So for now, is this the end?

A year later they eventually reconnect, can the past be forgotten? Was too much damage done? The chemistry is still ever present but past feelings and memories are difficult to forget. Logan has a lot of making up and ass licking to do.

We see what has happened to both of them whilst they have been apart and it made for some interesting reading. This book was extremely emotional and thought provoking. I actually found it more emotional than More Than This and that is saying something! You felt and lived the evolution of the characters and you could not help but fall in love with them even more. This was definitely a voyage of discovery for both of them and they really had to dig deep to try and make their relationship work, put aside their insecurities and take that leap of faith. But for two broken and battered souls, it was never going to be easy.

“I can't give you much, or anything at all. But when I say those words to you, it won't just be words—It will be me giving you something that means something. And you deserve to know that, to feel that. So please, let me be the first to say it—because I need to be able to at least give you that...and when I do—those three words will be yours, forever. And so will I.”

Yes this book does end at an inconvenient time where you will be screaming at your kindle noooooooooo you cannot end it there…but it was a great ending and one that will keep you sitting on the edge of your seat until the next instalment. I seriously cannot wait to get my hands on this one. Logan has whittled his way into my heart and I just want to give him massive mummy cuddles and tell him it will all be OK. I know that this story is going to get worse before it gets better but I just hope that there is some serious bright light at the end of the tunnel as these two are so deserving of a Happy Ever After!!

“She makes you happy, son?" he asked quietly. "No," I said, shaking my head. "She makes me whole.”

Once again Jay McLean you have blown me away, the growth in your writing is truly evident in this book. Fab read and please hurry with the next one…we need more Logan in our life!

Excerpt:

He gripped my ass tighter. I let out a sound I had no idea I was capable of. I was so fucking turned on. His movements on me were making me so wet I could feel it soaking my panties. His mouth moved from my neck to my ear, "You gotta quit making those sounds, baby." He kissed the spot behind it. "I'm starting to lost it."

Then he took my mouth in his, moving into me harder, pinning me to the wall. My leg on the floor moved to wrap around him. I needed him closer to me; I needed more of him.

He started to build a rhythm again. I felt that slow burn building low in my stomach. I didn't know how the fuck he was doing it. Or what the fuck he was even doing. But I didn't want it to stop. Ever. "Oh my God, Logan." I was panting; my head threw back against the wall. He was on my neck. Sucking. Hard. He was going to leave a mark. I wanted him to.

"Matthews! What the fuck are you doing?" A deep voice yelled.

I screamed, dropped my legs, ducked, and hid behind him.

Oh. My. God.

Reality set in.

What the fuck were we doing?

"Fuck." he spat. His hand went down his pants to adjust himself before turning around.

"What the fuck do you think this is, Matthews?"

"Sorry, Coach"

Oh. My. God.

Kill me now.

"Go home!" I was too embarrassed to look past Logan to see his coaches reaction.

"Yes Sir." Logan sounded like he was about to laugh.

What the hell?

"I'll cover for you." His coach sounded different now, like he was trying to contain his own laughter. "Fuck, I wish I was in college again," he said, before I heard his footsteps walking away.

I don't know what emotion was on my face when Logan turned to me, but he laughed.

Fucking laughed.

"This shit's not funny!" I whispered loudly. " I almost let you have me. " I motioned with my finger at our surroundings. "Right here!"

He didn't respond. Just looked me up and down and licked his lips. His eyes settled on my face, as he brought his hand to cup my cheek.

And then his face was so close to mine; I could feel his breath on my lips. He rubbed his nose against mine. "Wait here," he said, his voice low, laced with desire. "We're not even close to being done. I'm going to take you home and I'm going to fucking finish what I started. And when I'm done with you, you won't even remember what happened just now. All you'll remember is how I make you feel when you're screaming my name."
