Blog Tour ~ Review, Trailer, Excerpt & Giveaway ~ Take (Temptation Series 2) by Ella Frank

Book Description:

TAKE – verb: to reach for and hold in one’s hands or get into one’s possession, power or control.

Logan Mitchell is a man who’s always been more than happy to take what he wants. It’s a philosophy that’s proven lucrative in both his business and personal life, and never was it more apparent than the night he laid eyes on Tate Morrison. After pulling out all the stops and convincing the sexy bartender to give him a try—he’s hooked.

Now, Logan finds himself in a predicament that demands more from him than a smart-ass answer and his innate ability to walk away when things get too deep.

He has a choice to make, and it’ll force him to do something he’s never done before—take a chance.

Tate Morrison knows all about taking a chance. He took the biggest one of his life the night he showed up at Logan’s apartment to explore his unexpected reaction to the man.

Ever since then, he’s thought about little else.

At first he was convinced his attraction was based solely on his body’s curiosity. But the more time he spends with the silver-tongued lawyer, the more Tate realizes that their physical chemistry is only the beginning.

He’s starting to catch a glimpse of what life with Logan would be like, and it’s one full of excitement and satisfaction—a far cry from what he had in the past with his soon to be ex-wife.

Each man will face their fears as they begin to understand the true meaning of give and take. Their feelings for one another will be tested, as will their very beliefs. But now that they’ve found love where they least expected it, will they be brave enough to reach out and take it?

“I can’t wait to give your mouth a reason to be so f**king dirty.”

Well…the boys are certainly back in town and while this instalment is still full of the wild and passionate Logan and Tate, with this book we also get the emotion, the conflict, the “coming out,” most importantly, we get “feels” and I felt it all. Anyone who follows my reviews knows that I love to “feel,” I want to experience the highs and lows, the love, the pain and the anguish, I want to feel it in my heart and head, I want to live it and breathe it and Ella Frank delivered all of the above.

In this book we get to see the “real” Logan and Tate. As Logan and Tate’s relationship evolves, so do their emotions, their thoughts and feelings, their love and their anguish. Both of them have to fight in this book, whether it be past demons, family or both. I just felt that this instalment was more “real,” the one thing that I thought was emotionally missing from Try was Tate coming to grips with this massive lifestyle change but in this instalment Tate really does go through the motions and we are treated to all the internal struggles that he has to come to terms with. I cannot imagine the struggles that a guy who has always been “straight” goes through when he finally realises that actually, he is not. Tate is so overcome with how he feels about Logan, it is intense, it is passionate but most of all it is uncontrollable, something he has never felt before. Tate knows that with Logan it is different, extremely different, this is all new, and all-encompassing love and he finds that he needs time to process in his own way.

“You make me crazy and furious and out of my mind with need, but in the end, you make me so f**king happy. I can’t ever remember feeling this way. And no one is going to tell me it’s wrong. No one.”

Logan has his own battles to fight, we never really knew what happened to Logan in the past to make and shape him the way he is now. We knew it must have hit him hard and we finally get to understand the reason behind the self-confessed “player.” Logan too realises that what he has with Tate is foreign. For the first time EVER, Logan experiences a plethora of new emotions. Possessive Logan, jealous Logan and most importantly, a head over heels in love Logan. Logan has always been in tune with his sexual preferences, but he was always the shag ‘em and leave ‘em type, no matter the gender. Logan finally realises just how out of control his emotions are with Tate, once again, as with Tate, this is new, this is foreign and it is scary, but never has something that has been so intimidating, ever felt so right.

“What are you trying to do, kill me?” Tate shook his head. “No, I’m making you mine.” Logan released his hard-on and grabbed Tate’s ass, pulling him up so he could rub their cocks together. “Don’t you know? I’m already yours.”

As I said above, the inner turmoil is fought throughout this book and it is painful at times, but also so uplifting at the same time. It was great to finally see these two “see the light” and realise just how much they do actually mean to each other, no matter the hurdles they have to cross or the demons they have to fight on their way. The layers are slowly peeled away until we finally get to see Logan and Tate “RAW,” and it was beautiful to read.

“And…this is definitely my choice. You might have done the chasing in the beginning, but Logan…”

“Yeah?”

“I’ve never been happier than when you caught me.”

In Try, we saw them Try to make this work, in Take; you will have to read to see if they finally Take it and make it! Ella Frank once again has written a stunning and captivating read, you cannot help but root for these guys. You will be willing them along all the way, you can’t help it. I have totally fallen in love with these two, I want to see them work, I feel their love and lust, they are explosive yet so sensitive, their connection is mesmerising, the heat is off the charts and they literally cannot keep their hands, mouths or whatever else they come across off each other. It is intense and powerful but most of all you feel the love, that deep seated love that you only experience maybe once in a lifetime, we just have to hope that it is enough and I for one, cannot wait to read what happens to these two going forward. Maybe it won’t be plain sailing, but I for one feel that what they have is worth fighting for. A great read that I thoroughly enjoyed and couldn’t put down. I have yet to read a “bad” book from Ella Frank, I don’t think it is possible, she continuously delivers and this book is no exception. I just want MORE.

“In case I get busy in there and don’t say it, thank you.”

“For?”

“Always being willing to try.”

 Excerpt:

“That’s your truck?”

“Yes.”

“It’s so…”

“So what?” Logan challenged as he pulled his keys from his pocket.

“Old?”

“Excuse me. I’ll have you know I was driving this baby all through college and she still runs like a dream.”

Tate watched as Logan walked over to run his hand over the scratched-up tailgate, and he was amazed that he even made that look sexy. Like he was stroking a lover.

“And it’s a she, huh?”

Now around at the passenger’s side, Logan opened the door and looked at him over the bed of the truck. “Yeah. Jealous?”

Laughing, Tate walked over to where Logan stood with a hand on the door and kissed him slowly on the mouth.

“I’m jealous of anything you

stroke like that.”

“Get in the truck, Tate.”

“Or else?”

Logan stepped forward, crowding him back against the inside frame of the vehicle. “You’re not ready for the or else…”
