This is a really great story. Very erotic in places that will make your stomach clench while you read it.
It is about a young investigative reporter by the name of Katarina Montague or Kat as most people call her. Since the time she can remember Kat has been having dreams of a man whom she feels she belongs to, but not knowing who he could possibly be. A puzzle!!
Kat lives in the French Quarter in New Orleans, and it had been brought to her notice that girls have been going missing, which has brought her investigative brain to the fore, shouting out red flags to her, so she is determined to get to the bottom of it. She has a good idea where to start. A club called Dragons Lair where the underground Goth crowd congregate. With the help of her neighbour by the name of Mina, she manages to get herself in there and what a shock she got when she saw what was going on in there and this is where Kats story begins.
Intertwined in the story is a man who has been given the undertaking of watching and protecting Kat without her knowledge, but the strange thing is Kat always seemed to sense when he was close. Because of what Kat was doing and where she was determined to go, Alec Ventru, the man that has been protecting her has had to come out of the shadows and finally has had to make contact with her and Kat feels the connection being in his presence which comes to a head at one point.
“He pulled her hands away from his face. But before he could back away, she reached up and pressed her lips against his. For a moment, he was too stunned to move. But then, he felt her tongue stroke his lower lip. He let out a low growl as he gave in to the temptation clawing at him.”
This was wrong was all that was going through Alec's mind. It is taboo.
This story brings you into the world of vampires. A world where one very dangerous rogue vampire by the name of Damien is out to get Kat at all costs since he first caught sight of her in his club, and on the other hand Alec is also there for Kat to protect her from him at all costs. I don't want to say much more as it would spoil the book for you, but believe me this is a very enjoyable book and well worth reading.
Great book Ms Hart I could not put it down, and I can’t wait for book 2 in this series to come out.
