Review ~ Unblocked - Episode Three (Timber Towers #3) by Marni Mann

“My pink ivory was so fucking worth it.”

Episode 1 and 2 are out, Episode 3 releases 19th May, Episode 4 releases 7th July and Episode 5 releases 25th August.

Finally, we have more Derek and Frankie, to say I love this couple is a severe understatement. One thing that Marni Mann always excels in is her ability to ensnare you with great character connection and this series is no different. I desperately want to see this couple succeed, they are so suited for each other, they both have their issues that they need to overcome but together these two are so suited, emotionally and physically. As usual Marni Mann delivers on some smoking scenes between these two. What they have is powerful, it is perfect, now I just need them to wake up and smell the coffee, believe in themselves, believe in what they have and grasp it with both hands. Let the past be just that, the past and it is now time for both of them to live for the future.

“I wasn’t the only one that had built a box around myself. Block. It was fitting.”

This episode continues on from episode two and as I predicted all was not as it seems, but it seems that Frankie and Derek’s sisters, Hayden are already acquainted and not in the best way either. This episode is plot heavy and while a lot of questions are answered, more questions arise and at the end you are left wanting more. This series is highly addictive, even though each instalment is a decent length it is never enough and that is testament to Marni Mann’s writing, she sucks you in, hook, line and sinker.

Derek has always been a one woman one night kind of guy, he has his reasons but he never deviates from his MO…until Frankie. Even he cannot deny the connection that he feels with Frankie and he finally gets his eureka moment, he doesn’t want one night, he wants more…a lot more.

“And now I had her back - this dangerous, gorgeous woman who had changed me, who had made me do things I never thought I would. Who made me feel things I never intended on feeling.”

Frankie is still hesitant, her professionalism features high on her list of character traits but even she cannot deny her feelings for Derek either. She has never been one to mix business and pleasure, she doesn’t want the rep of other agents, but to her, Derek is like crack and she just cannot get enough, no matter how desperately she tries to stay away.

“She wanted, and she feared. She desired…and she regretted.”

I am itching to know what Derek and Hayden’s problem is with Randy, this side of the storyline really comes to the forefront in this episode and I cannot wait to see how this is going to end. I feel for sure Randy is going to bear the brunt, after all Derek never fails.

“When you fuck with the people I care about, you become an enemy…and if you hurt them, I will destroy you.”

We finally learn a lot more about Reed and it isn’t pretty, I always knew he was a douche but this is really hammered home in this episode, however, Reed cannot take the hint and for some strange reason actually think he stands a chance with Frankie…yeah, right buddy, go back under that rock you crawled out of…Reed, Derek, Reed, Derek…no bloody competition.

“But kissing was so intimate and soft - an emotional expression more than a sexual one. He didn’t show a lot of emotion, but he did when his mouth was on mine.”

As always, Marni Mann’s writing was flawless and captivating, these two are a couple close to my heart and I will be championing them all the way. I cannot wait to see what the last two episodes have in store for us; I know I will be first in the queue to read. Once again another terrific instalment in what is proving to be a highly addictive and smoking hot, suspense filled serial.

  1. I so agree with all that is said. I also want to know what happened between Derrick sister and Frankie's ex. There's more to that, I think.
