What I loved about this book was that it was so different from the normal werewolf books I have read. The humour throughout and a really good story keeps you turning the pages to see what is going to happen next. The sexy love story of Essie and Hank flows through while the intrigue builds up.
I must say at this point by reading the novella which is Book One, it will help you get the semantics of all the people involved in this book and I heartily endorse you to do so as it is a brilliant first book to this series.
Essie and Hank are werewolves who are mates. After a misunderstanding, Essie returns home to Hung Island, Georgia to live with her Granny. Essie while away joins the W.T.F. (Werewolf Treaty Federation) and becomes an agent for them, one of the best they've got as it happens, and Hank is the towns local Sheriff.
The sexy love they share and the continual flirting that goes on between these two makes you feel warm inside. Like the time Essie makes sure she gets pulled over by the local sheriff...
“Today was the best day ever. I stepped out of the car, and brushed his massive chest accidentally with one of my breasts as I made my way to the hood of my car. His quick intake of breath was music to my ears and I knew the pants of his uniform had just gotten tighter. "Like this?" I placed my hands on the hood and spread my legs so my mini skirt hiked up to the level of indecent. "Jesus Christ, Essie. You left the house wearing that?" Hank, our local sheriff and my sexy mate, griped as he yanked my skirt back over my bottom. "Where in the hell are you going dressed like that?" His normally green eyes had turned icy blue with desire.”
Let’s say Essie did her best to have steamy sex along the roadside but poor Hank had to reluctantly decline because of possible passing traffic. Naughty, naughty Essie. The story builds and you get to know Essie’s Granny and her BFF Dwayne. Not sure how to describe Granny. She is a law unto herself. She is over eighty years old but looks to be early forties and has had a very colourful life. Now Dwayne, he is the flamboyant gay vampire. He is hilarious, you have to chuckle at his antics, but he is also a deadly vampire who at over three hundred years old can do quite a lot of damage when needs must and is very handy to have around especially with what goes down in this story.
I like to think of these four characters as the awesome foursome, with plenty of laughs along the way. After danger and mayhem seemingly follow Essie and Hank at every turn, they do get to fit in a bit of their naughty, sensual lovemaking...
"I am so in love with you," he whispered in my ear as he slid into my body and began to pound me like there was no tomorrow.
It was so hot.
"Love you...love you so much," he muttered as he pulled out and gently cradled my still quivering body in his strong arms. "Never gonna let you go.”I'm not going anywhere, big guy," I whispered as I pressed my kiss-swollen lips to his cheek. "You're stuck with me forever.”
With twist and turns, sorting out who they could trust from all the beings that are around them makes for very good reading. I loved this book and also Book One. Ms Peterman I definitely think you are onto a winner with this series. Brilliant.

I really want to start this series. I already have book one, but haven't had a chance to try it yet. Great review.
