FOURTH DEBT IS LIVE!!!!

 Book Description:

Excerpt:

FUNNY HOW LIFE plays practical jokes.

The past few days—that had to be a fucking joke, right?

No logical answer would make sense of what I’d seen, heard, and lived the past seventy-two hours.

My sister.

My best friend and twin.

This was what she’d been living with? This was how she’d been treated?

This was what she wanted to return to?

Motherfucking why? Why would she ever want to return to this insanity?

We’d been raised in a broken home, chained to an empire that absorbed us right from birth. But we were kept safe, warm, and loved. We grew up together. We shared everything.

But now…I had no fucking clue who my sister was.

But then she came to me.

A woman I never knew existed.

The most stunning creature I’d ever seen.

Only she didn’t come to me on feet or wings of an angel. She rolled into my life and demanded my help.

And for better or for worse…

I helped her.

“LET ME GO!”

Daniel cackled like a mad hyena, his fingers stabbing into my bicep. Without breaking his stride, he stole me further away from the parlour and into the bowels of the house.

I didn’t want to go. I didn’t want to go anywhere with him.

“Take me back!”

He can’t be dead!

Just because he lay unmoving and bloody didn’t mean he was gone.

That’s exactly what it means.

I shook my head, dislodging those awful thoughts. He’s alive. He had to be.

I couldn’t tolerate any other answer. I refused to live in a world where evil triumphed over good. That wasn’t right—life couldn’t be that cruel.

It’s always been that way.

My mind filled with images of my mother. My father’s desolation. My broken childhood. Evil had puppeteered us from day one. Why should now be any different?

He’s not dead!

I swallowed a sob.

Please don’t be dead…

I fought harder. “Let me see him. You can’t do this!”

Daniel cackled louder. “Keep begging, Weaver. Won’t do you any good.”

He’s not dead!

I locked my knees, fighting him every step. “Stop!” Looking back the way we’d come, the door to the parlour seemed so far away—a bright beacon at the end of a festering corridor. “They were your brothers, you insane psychopath. Don’t you feel anything?!”

Please let me go to him. He has to be alive…

Please let my twin stay alive…

Let all of this be a nightmare!

I couldn’t cope with Jethro murdered; I’d go clinically insane if they killed V, too.

“I feel relief. I no longer have to put up with their simpering bullshit.” He flashed his teeth. “Cut did us all a favour.”

Cut will die.

He was evil incarnate. He deserved to die in excruciatingly painful ways.

I refuse to believe they’re dead.

“I said stop!” I wriggled harder, only succeeding in Daniel’s fingers tearing into my flesh. Goosebumps covered my skin while ice steadily froze my veins. Every second was endless torture. I couldn’t live without Jethro.

It can’t end like this!

“You won’t win, Weaver.” Daniel tugged harder. “Accept what’s fucking happened and obey me.”

Third Debt (Indebted #4)

 Our Review:

“I will kill them. And I will dance on their graves when I do.”

I think this was my most anxiously awaited book for the past few months especially after how Third Debt ended. I desperately needed to know that all was OK in the world of Jethro and Nila. As sick and twisted as this series is it is like crack and I cannot wait for my next fix.

What a tangled web we weave Ms Winters, just when I thought I had seen it all Pepper Winters side swipes you once again. Allegiances, unexpected alliances and friendships are at the forefront of this book, the tides are turning but the trouble is, is it too little too late?

This book starts where Third Debt finished and we are left with the emotional fall out. I had so many tears, Pepper Winters nails the emotions in this book, and I felt Nila’s pain in all its glory. It was raw, it was gritty, it was palpable, it was emotional and it was totally consuming. Every cell of my body radiated with Nila’s grief, I had goose bumps with every scream, it really was that overpowering.

“Love was what ruined me the most. Love was the ultimate destroyer. But no matter how much I tried to let go...I couldn’t.”

With Kes and Jethro out of the picture Cut, Daniel and Bonnie really ramp up their emotional and physical torture of Nila, there are still debts to be paid. This seriously turned my stomach and as painful as it was to read and imagine you couldn’t help but turn the pages. I don’t know if this makes me sick and twisted but Google seriously became my friend or maybe my tormentor as some things just cannot be unseen. Pepper Winters must have really done her research with this book because as the scenes unfolded in words my vivid imagination went into overdrive, only it wasn’t overdrive, it really was as bad as she had depicted. This only added to the emotional overload this book put me through as Nila’s pain became my pain.

“You’re already a corpse, and there is nothing, absolutely nothing, you can do about it.”

Nila was such a strong character in this book, she is really put through the mill but she never gives up. With the Hawks using emotional black mail at its finest she really has to dig deep to get herself through punishment after punishment. What should have killed her only makes her stronger, but even Nila has her limits. How could one woman go through so much? Will the Hawks break her? Will she make it to the Final Debt?

“I said goodbye. To my youth. To my childhood...This was the end...It was over.”

Unfortunately I cannot go into any details, as usual every word; every scene is a spoiler so I really have to keep my lips zipped. All I can say is that Pepper Winters really brought her A game once again, how she churns out these books so quickly I don’t know, yet they never lack intensity or seem like they have been thrown together. Every word has a purpose, every scene is pivotal, nothing is superfluous to the overall story, it all means something, it is all a piece of a huge puzzle that is slowly but surely coming together.

Jaz really comes into her own in this book, I knew she was going to be a pivotal character but never underestimate the girl with wheels. What she lacks in physical attributes she more than makes up for with her cunning, calculating demeanour, but will this be in Nila’s favour or the Hawks?

Once again I am in awe and once again I am going to be desperately waiting for the next book. Revenge, retribution, debts, anger, pain still so much to go, can my heart take it? Pepper Winters has my heart in her hands.

“I am you. I’m not a whole person anymore without you.”
