Book Description:
Melissa is a vampire; Derek is a vampire hunter.
When beautiful, sad Melissa Jones flees to New Orleans with her telepathic best friend, she is looking for a cure--not an erotic encounter with a sexy former Marine.
Derek Alexander left the military intending to become a private investigator, but with two powerful shifters as partners and an immunity to vampire glamour, he instead rose to the top in paranormal justice.
At a bar on Bourbon Street, Derek and Melissa cross paths, and their sexual chemistry is off the charts. Acting on their feelings, they are pulled deeper into an affair, but Melissa is hiding, hoping to escape her cruel maker.
It doesn't take long before the shifters uncover her secret. Still, Derek is determined to confront the Old One and reclaim her mortality--even at the risk of losing his.

Not having read any of Tia Louise’s books before I have to say I enjoyed this one immensely. It is a very sexy and erotic book with hot bedroom scenes, but also has a great story to back up all this hotness. You only have to get in to three per cent of the story when you get hit with the thoughts of Derek one of the main characters in this book and you get an inkling of what is to come
“Every sass, every glimpse of her personality, fans my smouldering desire. She's hypnotic, like the sexiest New Orleans voodoo, and my mind floods with images of us together. I want to be inside her. I want to taste every inch of her body, and fuck her with my tongue. I want to bend her over and take her from behind, pull her dark hair until she screams my name. I want to have her again and again.”
Derek is one of the main characters in this book and what I loved was that he sported a beard to go with his hunky good looks, you don't come across too many of our leading men having beards. He is a Vampire Hunter, who is out looking for one special vampire, an old one, who had caused him personal grief. It has brought him out of his normal patrol area and into New Orleans, where on his first night there he meets a gorgeous woman in a bar that sets him on fire. Her name is Melissa.
Melissa is a newly turned hybrid, who is fighting all the instincts her maker has inflicted on her. She has come to New Orleans with her long time best friend Elaine, who is a psychic, to try and help her overcome this by visiting a voodoo queen that Elaine had heard of.
Derek and Melissa quickly give in to this insatiable lust, it was immediate chemistry that they shared, even to the extent that they didn't even reach Melissa’s hotel that night before giving in. They found themselves a dark alley where they couldn't be disturbed
“He's a decadent indulgence, and a dangerous one. He tastes of champagne and mint, and something deeper, meaty and masculine at its core. My blood races beneath my skin. Desire burns between my thighs, and as badly as I want to fuck him, I want to taste him. I want to drink him in and feel him inside me beating with my heart.”
But the story is not only about this really hot attraction that is going on between Derek and Melissa. The very serious job of hunting this very sadistic vampire is very much key in this story. Derek brings his two partners in to help him. Stuart the older brother and the Alpha, and Patrick, Stuart’s younger brother who are shifters. I especially liked Patrick out of this duo, he appears very laid back and fun.
I don't want to give too much away and spoil your enjoyment of this book but I can assure you it has a lot going on in it, and if you like your hotness really hot here is another taster…
“Instantly, we're plunged into that orgasmic place, tumbling down the rabbit hole, lost in a whirlpool of giving and taking inexorable ecstasy. "Fuck!" He groans as he comes inside me, pulsing long and hard, over and over.”
This is one very enjoyable hot book with a great story. It’s a real page turner material. Get the fans to the ready before you begin.
