Sugar Free (Sugar Bowl, Book #3)
Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: October 11, 2016

Book Description:

Sela and Beck’s deliciously sinful tale of sex, lies, and vengeance reaches its explosive conclusion in the final chapter of Sawyer Bennett’s Sugar Bowl trilogy, which began with the novels Sugar Daddy and Sugar Rush.

For years Sela Halstead dreamed of revenge, but the quest for payback has been anything but sweet. Now, once again, she finds herself at the mercy of Jonathon Townsend, his hands crushing the very breath from her body. And even though she escapes with her life, Sela fears she may never recover. In desperate need of shelter and comfort, she runs to the one man she can trust. Beckett North has stood by Sela since the beginning. But can he handle the brutal truth?

Beck will do anything to protect what is his—and make no mistake, Sela belongs to him, heart and soul. The passion between them runs hot, even as their world begins to unravel. With the legacy of his ruthless business partner hanging in the balance, Beck stands to lose everything: his fortune, his family, his freedom. But each touch of Sela’s mouth on his skin, her nails down his back, makes it harder to let her go—and it might not even be his choice to make.

“…all I can do is hope and pray that he’s right and that our days together aren’t numbered.”

Sawyer Bennett certainly gave this trilogy a truly fitting conclusion. This was full of suspense, intrigue and uncertainty as Sela and Beck’s thrilling story comes to one epic ending. Sugar Free has a different vibe about it from the other two books in this series. This book was about an all-consuming love and how far you would go to keep it? While Sela and Beck always thought it would be JT that could potentially destroy them, it seems he may not have finished yet.

“…I think that both of us are getting ready to fall down the rabbit hole and there’s not going to be any way out for us.”

This book makes you think about what you would do in the name of love. How far would you go? What lengths would you go to, to protect the one you love? All actions have reactions and consequences, some more damning and life altering than others, but what risks would you take despite the repercussions? It was a soul searching read but I never once doubted the connection that Sela and Beck had. These two were a tight unit, they loved each other completely and their devotion to one and other was limitless and Sawyer Bennett perfectly portrayed this through the pages. These two were about to face their toughest fight yet and they needed all the ammunition they could muster and their belief and love for one and other was their most powerful weapon.

“He looks at me briefly, mouths I love you. I mouth the same words back to him, and hope to God I get to tell him that in person again sometime soon.”

Sawyer Bennett gave us all the answers we have yearned for throughout this series, no stone was left unturned and as the story and back story were painstakingly delivered everything suddenly began to make sense, but that is not before evil Sawyer Bennett throws you a few curveballs first. I was on the edge of my seat throughout this read. The story was captivating, engaging and enthralling and just when you thought you could see light at the end of the tunnel, Sawyer Bennett snuffs it out. This story is delivered her way and Sawyer Bennett made it her own.

This could have gone the ridiculous route but Sawyer Bennett made it believable and relatable. Nothing seemed over the top or out of the realms of possibility and it is here that I believe Sawyer Bennett’s legal expertise certainly came to the fore.

Beck was undeniably perfect; he had already cemented a place in my heart but he made sure his foundations ran deep in this book. His loyalty, belief and love were instrumental in Sugar Free and his relationship with Sela was tangible on every page. Their chemistry and connection gave me goose bumps at times and I never once doubted these two as a unit.

“What you and I have, Sela…no one will ever comprehend it. No one will ever come between it. But it’s real and it’s ours, and I’m never letting it go.”

Sela had a hard time in this book and this once strong willed woman actually showed her vulnerable side which was extremely welcome even though it led to her making some questionable decisions at times. Although, considering the pressure that she was under she was bound to make mistakes. However, like Beck, her love and loyalty to him were never in doubt and these two are definitely one of my favourite book couples. Through adversity these two conquered and they went through hell to get there.

“It’s persevered. It’s faced what life had to throw it and it held steady. Just. Like. Me.”

I have loved this series from the very start, from first glance totally not what I was expecting, it was so much more and an extremely welcome variance. This series has had me glued from start to finish with some shocking cliff hangers in between, but Sawyer Bennett more than makes up for her evilness surrounding her endings of books one and two. The epilogue was the icing on the proverbial cake, yes we get our cake and we eat it. This was a fantastic ending to a series I will no doubt re-read, definitely one of my guilty pleasures.
