Book Description:
My world changed at the stroke of midnight. No, I’m not Cinderella—she can suck it.
When fate stepped in and waved its magic wand, my destiny, or what I thought was my destiny had been altered. With a new found energy, I decided things needed to change.
This is my time. My turn to take life by the balls. No one will hold me back, yet one man will give me hope.
This is my fairy tale, and I’ll write my own ending. I’m Gretchen Prescott, and this is my story.

From the first day I met her, I knew she was special. She was taken; we were friends. When the dumbass didn’t realize what he had, he lost her. I suppose one man’s loss could be this man’s gain.
All I wanted was to hold her, be with her and make her mine. She deserves the best things in life, and I plan on giving them to her.
I’m Mason McDermott, and this is our story.

“One day I will share my name
with you, but for now I’ll share my heart.”
Gretchen Prescott certainly didn’t disappoint as we finally
get the only female story of this series. Surrounded by brothers Gretchen is
well a truly protected by her brothers and even though they can see her making
relationship mistakes as hard as it is, they leave her to find out the hard
way. Although, god help any man that breaks her heart!
Gretchen was an extremely lovable heroine with a fantastic
sense of humour and a huge, kind heart. The Prescott family as a whole are
built on love and this has filtered down to every sibling and they carry that
love with them every day. This is a family that everyone wants to be a part of.
Gretchen is a web site designer and is still finding her way in the market.
Having been with her current boyfriend for a few years it seems that sparkler
that is their relationship is coming to that last-ditch end fizzle. Gretchen
though is not one to shirk away and she kind of buries her head in the sand a
little when it comes to her love life.
“If we were meant to be, we’d
find our way back to each other, right? That’s what fairy tales had us believe,
but my life wasn’t a fairy tale. It was a tale I was still writing, and Prince
Charming could suck it.”
Mason McDermott is one lovable dude; he is Lucy’s best
friend and we have met him before in this series. From the first time that he
set eyes on Gretchen he has been smitten, not one for relationships it is the
first time that a woman has really turned his eye and trust his luck that she
is already spoken for…until she isn’t.
Joanne Schwehm delivers a fantastic friends to lover’s
romance and totally blind sided me at one point. But the thing that I love
about friends to lovers is the getting to know you faze is already done and
dusted, they knew they liked each other but it was time to test the waters on
the intense chemistry that these two shared. Gretchen is reticent to take the
jump, she doesn’t want a rebound, but also you have the dreaded “I don’t want
to lose you as a friend” scenario should it not work. Gretchen and Mason have
been blind to their family already knowing that they would make a fantastic
couple, they were just patiently waiting for Gretchen’s fog to clear and for
her to wake up and smell the coffee.
“We all make mistakes. If we find
perfection right off the bat, we wouldn’t know it, because we haven’t met the
wrong person. Maybe now that you see he wasn’t what you needed, the next guy
will stand a chance.”
Charmed is most definitely charming and ticks all the boxes
for a cute, passionate romance. These two were the perfect fit and even though
on the outside they seemed total opposites, they complemented each other
beautifully. I felt like I was watching my friends fall in love and walked away
from this read with a huge case of the warm and fuzzies. Another great
instalment from the Prescott family.
“Thanks for dreaming about me.”
