Release Day Blitz & Review ~ Lost In Between by KL Kreig

Title: Lost in Between
Series: Finding Me #1
Author: K.L. Kreig
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: February 20, 2017

Book Description:

We all have one.

A price.

That magic number that will get us to agree to do anything, be anything.

Don’t sit on your gold-plated high horse and say you don’t because you do. Everyone does. Each of us has something we covet enough that we’d sell ourselves to have it.

What’s my tipping point, you ask? Apparently a cool quarter mil will do the trick.

What does one do for 250 large, you wonder? Anything the infamous, gorgeous playboy of Seattle wants. For the next four months I’ll be Shaw Mercer’s arm candy, his beck and call girl, his faux girlfriend. I’ll be his to command, mold, push and pull in any direction he sees fit.

I’ll fight falling into bed with him. I’ll fight falling in love with him even harder. I’ll fail at both. And when my past and present collide in the most unexpected of ways, I’ll learn that while one man’s love for me has never died, the only man’s love I really want will never be mine.

“The unattainable is always the most coveted.”

KL Kreig never fails to deliver and she delivered one hell of a page turner with Lost in Between. While the concept is not original, it was in its delivery and as ever, KL Kreig nailed that character connection that I crave and gave me a huge overdose of emotion that left me wanting book two sooner rather than later.

“It’s like I said before. This one is different.”

Willow Blackwell is an escort going by the name of Summer, but that is all she is, a pretty face on an arm to parade around, no lines crossed or blurred. Willow works as an audio book narrator during the day and an escort as and when and she does it for the money, money she desperately needs to pay for the care of her mother who has the debilitating Alzheimers disease. Willow has given up everything to look after her mother and it hasn’t been easy, but this woman has a heart of gold and no matter how hard life is, she embraces it and makes the most of it.

“We look pretty, we adorn our clients, we dote, we mingle, we act the part we’re given, and we go home at the end of the “date” a few hundred or thousand dollars richer, with our legs shut and our pride intact.”

Shaw Mercer is the son of a politician, but first and foremost a hugely successful businessman. Shaw has everything he could ever want, loves his job and loves his family even more. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for them. Shaw and his business partner, Noah, who is also his best friend are not the settling down type. These two love their women, sometimes both at the same time, never really seriously dating, just casual dalliances. Shaw’s past though causes problems for his fathers re-election and now his father has asked him for one thing…to settle down…even if it is just until the elections are over.

Needless to say, paths cross, deals are made and Willow and Shaw begin a sham relationship for a cool quarter of a million that will enable Willow to relax for a couple of years, but these two have chemistry and it is not long before the lines begin to blur.

“I know you don’t want to believe this, sweetheart, but regardless of whether I know your real name or not, I assure you my feelings for you are entirely unprofessional.”

KL Kreig delivers one sexy as hell alpha hero in the guise of Shaw Mercer. This man oozes sex appeal and confidence and with every appearance on the page he speaks to the reader. From the very start he was intriguing, he was assertive yet not overly cocky and while appearing a little arrogant at times it soon became apparent that this was the façade of Shaw Mercer Business Man. Family time and Willow time showed a totally different side to this man and it was this side that makes your heart melt. Shaw’s dominant nature and dirty mouth will have the coolest of readers perspiring and once he shows all his facets you knew that Willow did not stand a chance.

“You feel this thing between us as much as I do. It’s not going away. It’s going to spread and thicken until it consumes us both, burning so fucking hot and strong it will never be extinguished.”

Willow was adorable, totally selfless and totally endearing. Willow had that infectious personality and had intelligence as well as beauty, she was a true all rounder and her experience in drama was perfect for the role that she was about to play for Shaw. Willow was quick witted, sharp and yet totally beguiling, yet this all came naturally, nothing forced, she was just a genuine, lovely woman.

The chemistry between these two was palpable and once these two really got to know one and other the pages were literally sizzling. The sexual tension will have you all in a tizzy and KL Kreig really ramps up the scenes that she has an incredible talent for, they were seriously, seriously, hot. I mean fan your face hot. I love a slow burn and as these two began their relationship that smouldering passion was evident throughout and the way that KL Kreig penned their relationship was nothing short of intense.

“She’s nothing I wanted, but everything I need.”

I loved the romance side of this story and the side characters, especially Noah and I am intrigued as to see what part he has to play in the second half of this duet. With a fantastic cast of characters and past and presents colliding and a few plot twists thrown in this was a captivating story from start to finish and I cannot wait to see what happens in the second half of this duet. Bring it on KL Kreig.

“Willow…I’m not going to hurt you.”
“You won’t mean to.”

About the Author:

As a USA Today Bestselling author, I write stories that are deeply emotional with flawed characters, because humans ARE flawed and if we read about perfect characters living in their perfect world, first of all, snoozer, but secondly, we never experience the gratification of redemption.

Outside of writing, I’m just a regular ol’ Midwest girl who likes Game of Thrones and am obsessed with Modern Family and The Goldbergs. I run, I eat, I run, I eat. It’s a vicous cycle. I love carbs, but there’s love-hate relationship with my ass and thighs. Mostly hate. I like a good cocktail (oh hell…who am I kidding? I love any cocktail). I’m a huge creature of habit, but I’ll tell you I’m flexible. I read every single day and if I don’t get a chance…watch the hell out. My iPad and me: BFFs. I’m direct and I make no apologies for it. I swear too much. I love alternative music and in my next life I want to be a bad-ass female rocker. I hate, hate, hate spiders, telemarketers, liver, acne, winter and loose hairs that fall down my shirt (don’t ask, it’s a thing).
