Blog Tour & Review ~ Mister Moneybags by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward

Mister Moneybags is LIVE!!!! I adored this book!!!

Book Description:

I met Bianca in an elevator.

She was on her way to interview me when we got stuck.
The beautiful, raven-haired reporter assumed I was a delivery guy because of the way I was dressed.

She had no clue I was really Dex Truitt, the wealthy, successful businessman she’d dubbed “Mister Moneybags”—her afternoon appointment.

Bianca told me how much she hated Dex’s type—snobby, over educated, silver- spooned men who didn't appreciate the simple things in life.

So, after the elevator finally started moving again, I cancelled the interview and let her believe I was someone I wasn’t—a bike messenger named Jay. I loved the way she looked at the fake me and didn't want it to end.

I began dating her as “Jay”—all the while letting her interview the real me over email.

I didn’t expect that our chemistry online would be just as hot.
I didn’t expect the mess I’d gotten myself into.
I didn’t expect that Jay and Dex would fall in love with her.

And she was falling for two men.
Only, both men were me.
And when she found out, we were both going to lose her.

Nothing could have prepared me for that day. And I certainly wasn't prepared for what came after.

All good things must come to an end, right? Except our ending was one I didn't see coming.

“…you need to come clean. Better to be slapped with the truth, then kissed with a lie.”

Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward are fantastic authors as individuals but together they are gold. This partnership is truly fantastic and I have loved every single book that these two have co-authored together and Mister Moneybags was no different.

Bianca George works as a journalist for the Finance Times, she has done her stint on Wall Street and is now enjoying reporting on what once was an integral part of her life. Bianca’s newest assignment is to interview Dexter Truitt, a man that is an enigma in the business world and has kept himself entirely private. This interview is a huge coop for Bianca and she intends to get the most out of it. Bianca can hardly believe that she will be interviewing Mister Moneybags himself.

“…I have some balls you could massage if you’re in a pickle.”
“You’re disgusting. Keep your balls and your pickle away from me, please.”

Dex Truitt came from an affluent family and when it was his turn to become head of the family company he took his responsibilities seriously. Determined to make a name for himself rather than another heir born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Dex kept his head down and his private life private and it was this anonymity that kept the press thoroughly intrigued.

When Dex and Bianca become stranded in the same elevator, Dex is on his way back from the gym and is not dressed in businessman attire. Bianca assumes he is a messenger and begins to rant and rave about what an egotistical arse Mister Moneybags is and Dex is inwardly cringing about her apparent dislike of him without even meeting him. Dex is totally enamoured by Bianca and so he does what comes into his head, he assumes the name “Jay” and comes up with this whole other persona.

“Take a chance on me, Georgy Girl. Take a chance.”

Dex was adorable in every single way. He was not your stereotypical rich guy, he was humble, had a huge heart and was unusually relatable. Dex was one of those guys that owns up to their mistakes and takes it on the chin, but his one lie soon snowballs and you are constantly reading knowing that the shit will hit the proverbial fan once all comes to a head.

“And she was falling for two men.
Only, both men were me.
And when she found out, we were both going to lose her.”

All Dex wanted was for Bianca to know the real him, without her preconceived ideas and misconceptions. If the truth be told, Bianca was extremely judgemental in the first instance but I loved the ways in way which Dex battled to win her heart, both as Jay and himself.

Mister Moneybags is a real feel good read, yes there is a little angst and some of their pasts come back to haunt them but this was a book with a great message, none more so than with the introduction of Bandit and Jelani which totally gave Dex heart, compassion and made him a “real” person.

“I feel like this guy is a ten-thousand-piece puzzle, and it’s going to take a long time to see the picture.”

I loved the way that Dex was always battling with himself and the extremes to which he went to, to prove himself to Bianca. Whittling will never be the same and all I could picture was a lot of blood and a lot of plasters. The comedic timing was fantastic and really cemented these two as a couple as the banter between them grows and flourishes. It is this connection along with the undercurrent of sexual tension that really motors this book along and you were forever waiting for that one line to be crossed.

“No matter what, Bianca, you are the love of my life. No one will ever replace you.”

Loved this book and I cannot wait to see what comes next from this dynamic duo, once again another winner from Keeland and Ward.
