Blog Tour ~ The Wright Boss by KA Linde

   TWBoss iBooks

Book Description:

A new stand alone office romance from USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde...

I’ve always had one rule:

Don’t mix business and pleasure.

But then Landon Wright comes home to his family’s construction company with a broken back and a beaten heart and ends up as my new sexy boss. As the office gets heated, I’m thinking about throwing the rulebook out the window.

If only there weren’t a million reasons this could never work.

We may have shared a single perfect kiss, but I can’t let our intense connection cloud my judgment. Not with everything I’ve worked for on the line.

Dating your boss is so very, very wrong…even if he feels so Wright.

“I’m just lost, and I want you to find me.”

The Wright Boss is the second book in the Wright Brother’s series and it is now the turn of Landon Wright. If you have read The Wright Brother then you will obviously recognise Landon and the fact that he was married to the evil witch of the gold digging west, Miranda. Knowing this little factoid certainly amped up the intrigue with this one and while I hoped among all hopes that Landon got rid of the little scheming, conniving bitch I was intrigued as to how this book would work if it didn’t. However, there is no cheating in this book, yes, he does kick the bitch to the curb and instead we were left with a forbidden romance for very many reasons.

“I’d tried to forget him. I’d tried to stay away from him. I’d tried not to look at him. All I did was fail.”

Landon finds himself back in Lubbock after injuring his back yet again, and this time the road to recovery would be a long and arduous one. Add to that his wife has no interest in an injured professional golf player that couldn’t give her what she wanted, he finally grew a pair, found his broken back bone and files for divorce. HOORAY!!! The Wright family are extremely tight knit, which I love about them, and the family make a place for him in the family business, but this also puts him the path of the woman that has caught his attention many times, but one where he never had crossed the line. Now he had no wife would the lines blur?

“Sometimes, love cracked your heart open to show you what really mattered. Her. Only her.”

Heidi was Emery’s best friend and also Landon’s ex, this is girl code number one, even though Emery has since moved on with Landon’s brother. Secondly, Landon is also Emery’s boss now, also a no no and finally he is also getting divorced…too soon. I loved Heidi, she said it how it was and stood up for herself, she was a great best friend to Emery and worked hard to succeed in a man’s world. Emery had worked for Wright Construction for six years and worked as an engineer, a job she valued and cherished more than life itself, she couldn’t and wouldn’t put that on the line for anyone…even Landon Wright.

“We’d known it was wrong, but it’d felt so damn right. Now, it was all up in flames.”

The push and pull of this one was great and the trademark KA Linde angst was ever present. The chemistry between these two was seriously off the charts and that tangible connection was what kept this reader flicking the pages at the rate of knots. Personally, I would have loved a little more of that push and pull, the flick between conscience and passion but these two did get together really quickly. However, the drama train more than made up for that even if it was a little predictable.

“You can’t forget me, Heidi. No matter how far you try to push me away or come up with reasons that we can’t be together, we will always end up right here…Because I am yours, and you are mine. And we are not just a finite point on a line; we are limitless.”

All in all, though, this was a great forbidden romance, one that caught my attention from the very beginning even if only to see Miranda get her just desserts. Heidi and Landon were a great couple and both of these definitely deserved a happy every after. I do feel that KA Linde has saved the best till last with Austin. Austin Wright is the last man standing in the Wright family and I am salivating for his story. This guy is so fucked up, seriously…but I am intrigued…what made him that way and who want to take that liability on? Bring it on KA Linde.
