Blog Tour ~ Review, Excerpt & Giveaway ~ Taz (G-Man #4) by Andrea Smith

taz blog tour.jpg
Book Description:

Taz:

taz cover.jpgMy life is finally perfect. My dreams have all come true. I'm where I want to be with the bureau; having the career I've been planning since I did my stint in the military. I'm married to the one and only woman I've ever loved; my heart beats for her alone. Together we've made beautiful babies that I adore. I'm thirty-three years old and I'm complete.

Then one day, it all changes. Slate recruits me for a temporary assignment that is underneath the radar for a reason. The bureau hasn't sanctioned it as a priority, but Slate feels it is because of who is involved: Sue Ellen Reynard. Yeah, remember her?

Lindsey:

Our lives were perfect. Taz and I had everything we'd ever hoped for: family, careers and an everlasting devotion to one another. Suddenly nothing is the same. In a single moment, my biggest fear is realized by one phone call from Slate: an 'agent is missing'.

My agent; my Taz . . .

This is just the beginning of our long journey. Will things ever be the same again?

Excerpt:

I wiped my hands clean, tossed the towel into the trash and grabbed my wife's hand, pulling her behind me up the wide staircase to the second floor. Once there, outside of those closed french doors that had been my iron curtain for the past several weeks, I pushed them open, pulled her into the room with me, and then kicked them shut with one swift move.

I pulled her close, raising her shirt up and she didn't resist; but instead, raised her arms up so that I could pull it up and over her head. I unfastened her front closure bra, releasing her beautiful tits that I hadn't touched in months.

I lifted her up, and carried her over to the bed--our bed, gently placing her on her back, so that I could straddle her and begin feasting on her breasts.

She moaned beneath me with pleasure. I multitasked, sucking on a breast while I unfastened her jeans, before raising myself back up so that she could shimmy out of them. I pulled my shirt up and over my head, and then quickly unfastened my jeans, shedding them along with my boxers in one swift movement.

I lowered myself back over her, my mouth finding hers. I slowed my pace. I sure as hell didn't want to come before my dick was even inside of her, but I swear to God, I knew I wouldn't last long. I kissed her softly, playfully, as my teeth gently nipped at her bottom lip.

Our tongues interlaced, and her arms wrapped around me tightly, pulling my face and upper body even closer to her. I was consumed by her scent, her softness, her sweetness--all of it. She was mine to claim and holy fuck if I wasn't going to! Nothing--I repeat--nothing was going to keep me from sinking my cock into her sweet pussy and showing her that she was mine--now and always.

And then we heard it.

At the same time.

Fuuckk!

From the room down the hall, Jackson was crying. And it wasn't just a fussy or whiney cry that would likely stop so that he could return promptly to sleep.

Hell no!

It was a loud-ass wailing, followed by a high-pitched shriek of "Mommeee!"

Over and over.

Seriously dude?

Lindsey squirmed underneath me, pushing against my chest.

"I'll get him, babe," I said, getting up.

"No," she said gently, giving me a quick kiss on the lips. "It's okay, Taz. He's calling for me. I'll get him."

She launched herself out of our bed, and quickly went to the closet, pulling on her white terry cloth robe, making a quick exit so that she could tend to our son.

The little cockblocker.

I made a mental note to ground his ass just as soon as he was old enough to understand the whole concept.

I swear.

This is book four of the G-Man series and this one covers Taz and Lindsey, we have already had their story in Book 2 and this catches up with them going forward. Taz is still in the bureau and Lindsey and Sam’s interior design business is on the up and up and gaining momentum.

Taz and Lindsey had already been through so much in Love Plus One and it seems that their life is finally settled, they are now married and have children and their life is running smoothly. However as we always know with a job in the bureau Taz can be taken away at a moments notice and spend months away from home at a time and in true Andrea Smith style her plans for these two are anything but smooth.

Slate recruits Taz to go undercover, he is the only one that Slate trusts to undertake such a huge job that has extensive repercussions but it means that Taz will once again be away from Lindsey and his children. Having had to spin Lindsey a story about where he is going and downplaying it, it comes as a shock to everyone when what should have been an in and out job goes drastically wrong.

It is hard to read when a couple you have grown to love go through difficulties, and while they had already been through so much to be where they are I felt that this only made what they had stronger and to get through this they were going to need to rely on that strength.

“Stop,” I growled through clenched teeth, “Don’t resist me.” It was something I might’ve said to a perp that was resisting arrest, but at this moment, I was saying to my wife. My mate. The woman that I loved more than life itself.”

Lindsey has really grown as a character and while you always thought that she was the quiet type she really grows some balls in this book and she really needs them. Marriage always has it’s problems but Andrea really heaps them on this book. Sometimes I was frustrated but I was empathetic. I tried to put myself in Lindsey’s shoes and try and think how I would react but I don’t think you can until you are actually in that situation. However, I did feel that Andrea dealt with them sympathetically and compassionately.

“Yeah, fuck me hard, and Taz? Put some ass behind it.”

This book is action packed too and it was great to catch up with the rest of the team, we are treated to all the characters coming together to get through these new set of problems. One thing that these characters have is a great family bond and when one is in trouble they all get together to do whatever they can to help.

As much as this hurt to read I really enjoyed this book, it had everything, the action, the suspense and the emotional side. Andrea Smith always delivers a captivating read and this one will have you on the edge of your seat and if you love this series, then you are going to love this read. Another great addition to this series.

About the Author:
andrea smith.jpgI was born and raised in southern Ohio, and with the exception of a brief stint in Dallas, TX, have been an Ohioan most of my life. My dream has always been to write a novel, and back in the early eighties I tried to do just that, having been influenced by authors such as Kathleen Woodiwiss, Johanna Lindsey, Rosemary Rogers and Laurie McBain. I remember writing to all of them through their listed publishers, and the only response I received was from Johanna Lindsey (who lived in Hawaii at the time.

Ms. Lindsey advised me to continue with my dream; and to submit to various publishers again and again. Of course, at that time, publishing e-books yourself was not on the horizon; there were vanity publishing houses of course, but she advised me to avoid those.

So my dream was put on the back-burner for more than 25 years until June of 2012 when suddenly I no longer had a reason not to write a novel. My sons were grown; I found myself without a career (blessedly) and the creative juices flowed once again.

I finished my first novel, "Maybe Baby" in September of 2012; the next two books in the "Baby Series" titled "Baby Love" and "Be My Baby" were published in early 2013. I learned a lot in my first endeavor with self-publishing. I've made so many friends as a result that it is over-whelming.

In the spring of 2013, I had an idea for a different type of Alpha, and wrote Book #1 of the "G-Man" Series, titled "Diamond Girl." This book was well-received, and I followed it with Book #2, "Love Plus One." These are stand-alone books.

I am finally doing what I love and I sincerely appreciate the wonderful readers who provide feedback and take the time to comment. I hope that with each book, my writing has grown and improved as I strive to publish quality fiction.

Review ~ Sea of Stars (Kricket #2) by Amy Bartol

Reviewed by Donna ~ 5 Stars

**ARC received for honest review**

“If this doesn’t work out for us, Kricket, know that I’ve loved you from the moment I held you in my arms on Ethar, and every moment in between. I will love you even after my final breath.”

I am in total awe of Amy Bartol, every book I read of hers just gets better and better. This series needs to be a film, seriously!! I feel the same about the Premonition series too...Amy has this incredible talent for scene setting, she brings her books to life through words, but so vivid and descriptive are those words that you can picture yourself in these places in the midst of battle and you cannot help but be drawn in to these worlds that she painstakingly creates. Ethar is no different, while reading I felt as if I was there watching the action unfold before my eyes, I could feel it and I could see it.

“What good is seeing the future if you cannot get out of its way?”

This book continues where Under Different Stars ended. The political discord in Ethar is reaching an all-time high and Kricket is unfortunately at the centre of it. With Alameeda declaring war on all houses the battles that ensue are epic. With Rafe and Alameeda fighting each other Kricket has to use all her powers to keep ahead of the enemy, an enemy that want Kricket and her powers all for themselves knowing that they could tip the balance in their favour. As we found out in Under Different Stars there is a prophecy that one house in Ethar will rise and the other will fall and Rafe and Alameeda are both determined that they will not be the fallen, no matter the cost or the consequences.

“Think about what I said. You need me to bring the future back to you.”

Trey and Kricket’s relationship gathers momentum in this instalment and while their priorities are firmly set on survival there are a few moments where we are treated to the Trey and Kricket show. The few amounts of down time that they have are not wasted and Trey is one guy that you cannot help but swoon over. He will do anything in his power to protect Kricket and this is not through allegiance to Alameeda but is born from the sheer love that he feels for Kricket and the feeling is reciprocated. Even though Kricket knows her mere presence puts everyone in danger, Kricket cannot help the pull or the love that she has for Trey and this is one instance you will be rooting for love conquering all.

“It’s a paper heart now, like I told you before, and your name is written all over it.”

It was great to catch up with the others that are totally behind Kricket and Trey’s adventures, especially Jax and Wayra and Amy Bartol introduces a host of new characters that are just as intriguing as everyone else and I am sure have an interesting story of their own to tell. Kyon is still hot on their heels determined to make Kricket his no matter who he has to destroy in the process to get to her. This man is resilient and persistent, however, even though I shouldn’t I can’t help but have that twinge of “like” for him. This is one thing that frustrates me with Amy’s writing in the nicest possible way, she has this knack of making you like the bad guys too and you feel guilty for doing so.

“You are the brightest star among the Sea of Stars, Kricket.” - Kyon

Trey is such a fantastic character, you cannot help but fall in love with him, his fierce sense of loyalty and protectiveness can you bring you to your knees, he is just a good guy inside and out. Kricket really develops in this book, she has to mature and adapt quickly and is so far living up to everyone’s expectations. She does have her moments where she makes some rash and silly decisions but you can always see the method to her madness. I love Kricket with a passion and for someone who is feeling love for the first time you cannot help but hope she gets her happy ever after.

“Since when are you afraid of anyone or anything?”
“Since I found something I don’t want to lose.”
“There is no chance of you losing me.”
“You must not have heard about me. I’m trouble.”

I seriously cannot wait for book 3, Darken the Stars. Even though you have that deep seated sense of foreboding you always have that sense that good will conquer evil and I cannot wait to read this series climax.

Release Day Blitz ~ Jake Understood (Jake 2) by Penelope Ward

Book Description:

From the New York Times bestselling author of Jake Undone, comes a full-length standalone companion novel and sequel.

A different side to the story: Jake’s side.

“We’re getting a new roommate,” they said.

I thought nothing of it...until she walked in the door. Her hand trembled in mine as she looked at me with fearful eyes. My entire world spun on its axis.

Nina...

It was a mismatch made in heaven: innocent girl from the boonies moves in with tattooed, pierced, badboy engineer.

I came up with a bet, a plan to tutor her in math and coach her through her phobias. What I wasn’t betting on was becoming addicted to her.

But I was living a double life on weekends, and once she found out about it, she’d be gone.

I had to protect myself and that meant one thing: I couldn’t fall in love.

In Jake Understood, pivotal scenes from Jake Undone are retold from Jake’s point of view combined with all-new material from both the past and present time where Jake Undone left off. It can stand alone but if both books are read, should follow Jake Undone. Contains graphic sexual content and harsh language. It is only appropriate for adult readers age 18+.

Review ~ The Summer Remains by Seth King

Reviewed by Donna ~ 4.5 Stars

“…sometimes you just gotta jump, and then make your parachute on the way down.”

Well, anyone that follows me knows that I love a tear jerker and this one succeeded on very many levels. Wow, this was one emotional book, yet so uplifting all the same. There are many messages contained within these pages, messages that will make you look at life differently, look at yourself differently and look at others differently. Life is what you make it and there is always that special someone for everyone, no matter when you meet or how long you have together, their presence will stay with you forever, just like this book will stay with me forever.

“Hi. My name is Cooper Nichols, and I am absolutely swimming in love with a girl named Summer Johnson.”

Seth King can write, I am still dumbfounded that this was written by a twenty-five year old, the writing is so mature yet youth shines through, the writing is moving and captivating, yet humorous and funny, in short, this book was perfectly balanced. I highlighted so much of this book, haunting yet beautiful words that together made me melt, swoon, cry, laugh and every other possible conceivable emotion in between. In short, it was just amazingly poetic.

Summer is broken on the inside and the outside, yet she doesn’t let her health and her scars alter her lust for life. Even though she has lived a really sheltered life through health and over protective parents, she hasn’t lost her snark and her sass or lost that beautiful person underneath. Like any girl her age she wants to experience life, she wants to make the most of the hand that life dealt her and the one thing that she feels she has missed the most is love. Every girls dream is to fall in love, but she has never been in the right place to find it. Her social media is blowing up with friends her age getting engaged, getting married and having a family and she desperately wants a piece of that for herself, so she puts herself out there, she joins a dating app and in true Summer style, she is nothing but blunt.

“Hi. I’m Summer. As you can see in my pictures, I’m kinda mangled. Childhood accidents suck. If that’s something you can get over, swipe right. If you chew with your mouth open, count NASCAR races among your hobbies, take mirror selfies, or refer to girls as “ sluts,” “bitches” or “cum catching slut bitches,” then swipe left. If not, I’m your girl. I like reading, confetti cake, cynicism, hate-watching the Kardashians, and not much else. Come dislike the world with me.”

After many a doozie Summer gets a message from Cooper, at last a seemingly sane and intriguing match, little does Summer know that this meeting will give her the summer she has always wanted and the one thing that she has always wanted to do.

“You’re beautiful, and beautiful things don’t demand attention. It just gravitates to them.”

Cooper too had his scars, but he didn’t wear his, he kept them inside, he internalized everything. But as good as he was for Summer, Summer was good for him. These two were made for each other and so Seth King brought to life one of the most beautiful, heart breaking, soul reaching love affairs that I have ever had the pleasure to read.

“You know, we all have scars, Summer . If yours are only on the outside, you should consider yourself lucky.”

This book made me feel…every single emotion purged off the page and hit me straight in the heart, I lived their story with them, and it was captivating from the very first word until the very last. The authors note at the end was another emotional kicker and once I had read that and the tears had subsided once again I realised how this author had captivated Summer and Coopers story. You felt the blood, sweat, tears, heart and soul that this author gave on every page, it brought this couples story to life and now that I have read it, I understand it all.

“Because right then and there, for the first time in my life, I decided to tell my brain to shut the fuck up and let my heart take the wheel instead.”

I loved this book with a passion, while there were a few little things that niggled at me, hence the 4.5 even those didn’t detract from what a beautiful story this was. I highly recommend this book to everyone and will remind you to have the tissues nearby, you will need them, but at the end you will stand back in awe and admire the fantastic book you have just read. Seth King is a new author to me, but he will definitely not be a stranger.

“Let love destroy you – God knows life is going to, anyway.”

Spring Fling Blog Tour & Giveaway with Headline Eternal Romance

The lovely ladies over at Headline Eternal Romance have been visiting blogs all week as part of their Spring Fling Blog Tour where we have been getting to know their "favourites"!

Today they are talking to The Romance Cover about their favourite Eternal heroes and favourite Eternal heroines! Also check out how to enter a giveaway for 6 books, including 2 signed, courtesy of Headline Eternal!
(UK Only)

Favourite Eternal hero:

Christina:
Damien Stark is the man for me. He’s everything I look for in a hero and more! He’s shockingly handsome and dangerously sexy, ambitious and successful, and what he wants, he gets. Add in a mysterious and damaged past and I’m done for!

Kate:
How could I pick one? It makes me very happy that I don’t have to but that I get to fall in love with such incredible heroes over and over again. I will say, though, that we have a very special one coming your way soon in the shape of Wes Carter in Sophie Jackson’s A POUND OF FLESH. He’s sexy, edgy, behind bars, with emotional scars as permanent as the ink on his skin, just waiting to be healed by love... He’s going to be everyone’s new bad boy book boyfriend!

Jo:
Mr Damien Stark wins here! Good looking - tick; brains - tick; billionaire - tick; sports star - tick. He has it all! And he gives Nikki the happily ever after she more than deserves. I'm very much looking forward to seeing more of him in J. Kenner's new Stark International series - though the new hero from those books, Jackson Steele, is pretty hot too...

Beth:
This is such a hard question! How could I possibly answer? I fell in love with Michael Montand, from Beth Kery’s The Affair, because you can download onto your Kindle eight instalments of pure sex. Just go read THE AFFAIR: WEEK ONE right now and tell me I am wrong.

Katie:
Natasha Boyd’s Jack Eversea is my all-time favourite Eternal hero. His escape from the movie star life to a small town and his romance with Keri Ann had me hooked. Plus, he’s a talented and poetic guy who would just sweep you off your feet!

Favourite Eternal heroine:

Christina:
Karina Halle’s Ellie Watt from The Artists Trilogy is just the coolest heroine. She’s edgy, feisty and extremely badass, and her story is wild.

Kate:
Although we always want to fall in love with our heroes in romance, I love heroines who are more than a match for them. If you’re looking for strong, feisty and independent women try Pamela Clare’s I-Team series – these investigative reporters are awesome!

Jo:
I think for me it has to be Ellie Watt in Karina Halle’s The Artists Trilogy. I love that she isn't straightforward, that she makes mistakes and that she's a bit of a bad girl!

Beth:
Gah! Once again, there are so many fantastic, funny, feminist characters in Eternal titles! I think Gwen Maudsley from Meredith Duran’s Wicked Becomes You might just edge ahead, because I love how she deals with her apparent inability to become happy in a respectable way; by marrying wealthy men with unblemished reputations. She decides if she can’t play nice, then she will have fun playing naughty...

Katie:
Anna Rossi from Sierra Kincade’s Body Work trilogy is a tough woman who knows her own mind. She’s been through a lot, but she comes through stronger and better on the other side.

Friday Frights ~ PNR Reviews ~ Dream Warrior (Dark Warrior Alliance Book 1) by Brenda Trim and Tami Julka

Reviewed by Shirley ~ 4.5 Stars

What a first book in this amazing new series. It is a beautiful, sensual, erotic story about a love that was nurtured to bring fulfilment to two people. One is a human woman the other is a vampire king.

These two were meant to be together for all time, but the road to reach this was fraught with difficulties, it tells of hardship and sorrow. This story was about a strong powerful vampire showing the strength to nurture along with a deep love that he knew was meant to be. He had found his Fated Mate, Elsie Hayes.

Elsie had lost her husband when he was murdered by vampires. It had left her stricken with grief, she couldn't eat and had a block of ice surrounding her, but through it all she had come out fighting, determined to get her revenge on the vampires. Elsie had joined a group, learned how to fight and was going out nightly to kill as many vampires as she could to keep other people safe from these evil predators.

Elsie found by doing this helped her slightly come to terms with the deep grief she felt. With the love in her heart and vows she was determined to keep she was determined, but that was all going to be rocked with an encounter she had when Elsie and her sister, Cailyn, went out to eat one day. Elsie while there noticed a sexy as sin man looking at her. He was superb; broad shouldered, muscled and had the bluest eyes she had ever seen. He made her have feelings she hadn't felt in a long time and wanting to do erotic acts with him. He affected the very core of her, warming her, making her stomach clench with need, but then the guilt hit her, she was betraying her husband. No, there was going to be no one else in her life even if he was the hottest man she had ever seen. She couldn't leave the establishment quick enough.

Zander Tarakesh, the vampire king was intrigued with the human female that had walked into the eatery he was in. He had felt recognition to her. He was deeply attracted to her, to her smell of sweet honeysuckle which was affecting him on such a sexual level even though he knew he couldn't pursue it as the woman was human, and he was waiting for his Fated Mate, but he was consumed with desire for her, something in all his seven hundred years he had never felt for a woman before.

He was the vampire king of the Tehrex Realm. He was there to protect humans against the demons and the skirm that preyed on them, to keep them safe. This deep attraction that Zander was feeling for this beautiful human woman was very unsettling and wrong in many ways. It was making him wonder what his Goddess had in store for him.

Their story begins here. Not being able to get Elsie out of his mind, Zander asked a fellow warrior to find out all he could about her, and the news was astounding, not only did she know about the skirm but purposely went out hunting them. He had put two of his warriors in the local police force and with them he went to Elsie's home to tell her they were looking into the death of her husband. As soon as she answered her door he was assailed with her unique honeysuckle scent.

“His cock ached for a taste of this female, his heart wanted to reach out to her all the while his head was arguing with his heart. He feared her human status, but still wanted her. Not one part of his body was in agreement with another.”

Lust coursed through his veins, she was, ravishing. For Elsie when she opened the door and saw him standing there with the two detectives …

“Arousal, hot and insistent, coursed through her to pool in her core. She hid her torso behind her front door to hide how her nipples had hardened. It was unsettling how rapidly she lost control of her body as she began aching for this man. It was a stab to the gut that she was so drawn to this stranger. Her black hole throbbed painfully making her sick to her stomach. Guilt and shame warred for dominance over desire in her mind. The conflicting emotions lashed her.”

Even though after eighteen months had passed since her husband’s death, with her sister and friends’ telling her it was time to move on, she couldn't, she still loved her husband. These two people, Zander and Elsie, wanted each other, but for different reasons were fighting it. Theirs was a long road of twists and turns, but the love Zander felt for Elsie, which he couldn't deny anymore, knew he had to treat Elsie carefully giving her the respect for her feelings about her husband, but showing her that what they shared was a bond that was so strong and good that he was never going to give up on her.

Slowly Elsie's heart was thawing. Through sexual, erotic dreams and fantasies Elsie was having about Zander, which left her panting and wanting him so much, the guilt of her attraction to Zander slowly ebbed away the more she was in his company. His slow loving, patiently waiting for her to realize that the love they shared was not wrong, slowly chipping away the ice surrounding her heart. It was the heart rendering that the guilt Elsie felt because of her husband that was slowing this beautiful relationship down. You cannot help feel for both of them, but Zanders loving patient ways were slowly making a difference and he got closer to Elsie

“She arched to his quaking body and felt hot liquid of his seed spread across her abdomen and breasts. Her nerve endings fired messages of bliss throughout her body, and she felt tension in her lower abdomen. Her orgasm exploded before she formed another thought. Twining her legs around his waist, she rode the rigid length of his still erect and spurting cock, unable to stop or control her reaction to his bite. She screamed out his name, ass her body shattered and stars blinked behind her eyes.”

But there is so much more to this book. It is filled with the scrumptious Dark Warriors fighting for humanity. Evil surrounding them all. Ms Trim, Ms Julka what a book, it has everything, a real page turner. I for one have already bought book 2 and am eagerly waiting to devour it.

Blog Tour ~ Review ~ Manwhore (Manwhore #1) by Katy Evans

**ARC Received for honest review**

Reviewed by Donna ~ 5 Stars

“…but I’m aching to Sin.”

#WhoIsMalcolmSaint has been posted all over social media for the past month or so, everyone has been wondering just who Malcolm Saint is. Well now everyone can be put out of their misery…Malcolm Saint is awesome. One thing that Katy Evans always manages to deliver are amazing heroes, they are always broken in their own way yet perfect in so many others and while the title may give you the wrong impression, underneath all that social media bullshit, Malcolm Saint has a heart of gold, he just needed to find the right woman to make him find it.

“Electric…Consuming…Stubborn”

Malcolm Saint lives his life on social media, everything you ever want to know about his social life is on there, from the multiple parties to the multiple women, he was a Manwhore and he was proud of it…or was he? Saint was the epitome of perfection, he was handsome, he was successful, he was absolutely loaded, he was sexy, confident, yet underneath the public persona, he was an enigma. He steered away from the press; he kept himself to himself but underneath that façade the real man underneath is pretty kinda cool. No one knew the real Malcolm Saint, he lived his life under the spotlight but you only saw what he wanted you to see but who was Malcolm Saint really?

“Saint is the embodiment of luxurious and decadent and sin. He is Sin Itself and I feel like an absolute…virgin.”

Rachel Livingston was a reporter, she lived and breathed her job and was extremely good at it. Unfortunately the magazine was ailing and needed one big story to put them back on top. Rachel was the reporter that they trusted to get the low down on Malcolm Saint, write an expose, it was time that the world knew the man behind the persona, it would sell a tonne and it would also save the magazine and Rachel’s job. Rachel thought it would be easy, in and out, meet the man, and get to know the man, write the article and get out. It seems easy on paper, but that was before she met Malcolm Saint.

“I’m not endearing to people, Miss Livingston. I’d say people respond to me on four levels and four levels only: they want to pray to me, be me, do me or kill me.”

I have to say that while I was reading this book I was constantly on the edge of my seat, while Saint always knew Rachel was a reporter she had got her in through saying that she was writing an article about his new social media platform that was about to be released. Rachel had been economical with the truth but the more she learned about the man, the more she realised he had been grossly misrepresented.  I loved the way that this was a slow build, this was not an insta-love, we are treated to their developing friendship, that development of trust and all of those juicy lines being blurred and crossed. Rachel was a tougher nut to crack but she held her own with Saint. She needed to, she didn't fall at his feet, she challenged him, she didn't follow the usual pattern of girls that fawn all over him, she seemed disconnected but nothing could be further from the truth.

“When you come outside of your box, I’ll be waiting.”

Rachel thought she could handle it but that was before she met Malcolm Kyle Preston Logan Saint. Saint thought that she would be the same as all the others but that was before he met Rachel Livingston. Their relationship was organic, it grew on the pages and you could feel it all, I felt the push and pull, the constant denials of what was developing, the sexual chemistry was undeniable, the fighting against the inevitable but all this left me wanting more. I wanted these two to succeed; they were good for each other but you always had that sinking feeling and while reading it just wouldn’t go away.

“His eyes seem to offer peeks into heaven and into some kind of party in hell...”

I felt sick, Malcolm lives for trust, trust means the most to him, in his world with his life, it is so important and knowing that Rachel hadn’t been entirely truthful had me reading this book with my stomach in my throat. Each page I turned was accompanied with dread and this made this slow build more powerful, more intense. Can the exposer avoid being exposed? Can Rachel expose knowing the real Malcolm Saint? Will work come before the Manwhore she has fallen for and who ever would have anticipated the Manwhore falling for her? The house of cards that Rachel has built is going to tumble, but what will be the repercussions?

Release Day Blitz ~ Review & Giveaway ~ Fisher's Light by Tara Sivec

Book Description:

Fisher,

I guess this is it, huh? After fourteen years together, starting a life of our own on this island, five deployments and countless letters I’ve written you through it all, I finally go out to the mailbox and see something I’ve always dreamed of: an envelope with your handwriting on it. For one moment, I actually thought you’d changed your mind, that all the awful things you said to me were just your way of coping after everything you’d been through. I was still here, Fisher. I was still here, holding my breath, waiting for you to come back even though you told me you never would. You always said you’d find your way back to me. Out of all the lies you’ve told me, this one hurts the most.

Enclosed you will find the signed divorce papers, as requested.

I hope you find what you’re looking for. I’m sorry it wasn’t me.

Lucy

To get the ending they want, Lucy and Fisher will have to go back to the beginning. Through the good and the bad, they’ll be reminded of why they always made their way back to each other, and why this time, one way or another, it will be the last time.

Reviewed by Donna ~ 5 Stars

“War changes everyone, son, there’s no shame in that. If it doesn’t change you, you were already too fucked up to begin with…”

Tara, Tara, Tara what have you done to me!! As much as I love whatever Tara Sivec deems to write I do have a favourite and that is Watch Over Me. This was one of those books where Tara poured out the emotion and I had such an intense connection with the characters that I didn’t want it to end and Fisher’s Light is on the same scale, I loved it just as much, cried just as much and am sat in awe just as much. I totally and utterly loved it.

Tara is one of the most versatile authors I have read, she can write funny, she can write suspense and she can also write contemporary and no matter what Tara turns her hand to, she always delivers. Fisher’s Light was such a beautiful story that I just didn’t want it to end, I wanted to stay on Fisher Island, and I didn’t want to read the last page.

Fisher and Lucy’s story covers a decade, a decade of highs and lows, when there were highs it was euphoric and when there were lows it was pitiful and woeful. We are treated to the present, the past as teenagers and the past in times where they were facing their biggest battles. A time that they both wanted to forget but it was a battle that needed to be won and a time they both needed to come with terms with none the less.

“I should have realised that she was my light. She was everything bright and beautiful about my life and it went to shit after she left.”

Fisher was from a privileged family, Fisher Island having been in his family for years and still owns the island and the majority of property and businesses on it. For Fisher life was never about the money, he didn’t really get on with his family that well but had an incredibly strong and loving connection with his grandfather. When Fisher grew up, he wanted to get away but do something worthwhile, so he joined the Marines. The Fisher that came back was not the same Fisher that left. With every deployment a little less of Fisher came back, until the last time, when Fisher never really came back at all.

“I don’t know if I’m strong enough to get him through this. I don’t know if I’m enough to make him forget.”

Lucy was a beautiful character inside and out, always putting everyone else first and trying to be the best person and wife she could be. With every deployment, Lucy could see the husband she knew fade away, being a marine’s wife she could cope with, but when your husband comes back with a severe case of PTSD and won’t let you in, makes it all the more hard to manage.

“You don’t want anyone else fishing in your damn pond, but you seem to forget that YOU tossed me back in that fucking water! You always said you’d find your way back to me and you FUCKING LIED!”

This was a truly beautiful story bringing PTSD once again to the forefront but dealt with sympathetically and empathetically. You couldn’t help but be drawn into Fisher’s plight and taken on a journey of just how hard and difficult this illness is, how it affects the person and how it affects those people around them. I am no specialist when it comes to PTSD but the way this story was written felt personal and drawn from experience rather than research. The emotions that this book drew out of me had me sobbing with tears in some instances and yet laughing, smiling and swooning in others. This book was perfectly balanced, as I said above there were highs and lows and while the lows were hard the highs more than made of for it.

This is a book about forgiveness and second chances a book that screams no matter how low you are the love and support of family and friends can pull you through, a book about healing, learning to live and love again and most importantly realising that you are worthy of that love in return. No matter the past, live for the present and the future, leave the past behind you, and only look forward.

“To get to the good, sometimes you have to live through the bad.”

This is one of those books that will stay with you long after you have read the last word; this is one of those books that you cannot help thinking about and one that I will definitely be reading again and again and again. Tara Sivec, I salute you, I bow down to your awesomeness, you have managed to decimate me once again and I cannot wait to see what comes next. You must read this book!

Excerpts:

    Diamond Girl (Book #1)
Slate was waiting for me at the bus stop when I arrived. I shamelessly flew into his arms as soon as I stepped to the curb. "I fucking missed you," I said, "And I don't want to hear shit about it, either."
He laughed softly, as he wrapped his arm around me, pulling me closely as we walked to his apartment.
Once there, we were like two savages that hadn't been together for months instead of days. I tore at his clothing, and he tore at mine. Once naked, he unceremoniously lifted me from the pile of clothing and placed me on his bed.
He lowered himself beside me, gently pulling me into his strong arms and kissed me softly all over. His lips brushed my lips, and then moved to my neck, peppering me with kisses as his tongue blazed a path to my breasts. His mouth suckled each one thoroughly, and soft moans escaped my lips as his fingers explored my wet pussy, and then dipped inside of me sending shock waves of pleasure throughout my body.
I watched as his hand moved from my pussy. He brought his fingers up to my lips. "Lick," he said, pushing his wet fingers against my lips. "I want you to see what you taste like."

Love Plus One (Book #2)

My mom looked at me with a puzzled look on her face. She couldn't figure out why I would ask about Taz. Her eyes lowered to the 'FBI' hoodie I was wearing and her look of puzzlement swiftly changed to one of suspicion.
"That isn't one of Slate's hoodies," she noted, "He only wears the tee shirts."
I looked down, my fingers plucked a piece of imaginary lint from the front. "No," I borrowed it from …Taz," I replied slowly, looking back up at her.
Her expression had now morphed into total confusion.
"Why would you borrow a hoodie from Taz?"
        Ahh… geez.
"Because I needed something to wear to bed.
There. I'd said it. The secret was out and I was relieved.

"Lindsey, no," she said in a loud whisper, clearly horrified. Her hand had moved to cover her mouth.
"Mom, Taz and I have gotten…close. It's a caring relationship."
"On your part, I'm sure," she said, "But, honey--Taz isn't boyfriend material. I mean the stories I've heard from Eric," she breaks off, shaking her head.
I continued to watch her turning this piece of information over in her head. Waiting.
           "So…I take it you're no longer . . . Uhm…"
Don't say it, Mom. Please. Don't. Say. It.
           "A virgin?
           Damn. She said it.
"That's correct, Mom," I replied, hesitantly. "That's no longer the case."

Night Moves (Book #3)

"Easton," I said, trying to feel him out. "I'm getting some very mixed signals here." I tried to pull my hands back, but his grip was strong. He didn't release his hold.
"It's simple, I've missed being with you."

"What do you mean? We were just together last night. We spent almost all morning together at the office, we had a working lunch together, and now you've hauled me out for dinner. I'd say over the last 24 hours, we've spent more time together than most married couples."
"Don't play with me," he quipped. "You know what I'm talking about. This doesn't bode well for me."

I sighed audibly. The truth was, my body ached for him as well as for his discipline, but these newly adopted scruples of mine were wreaking havoc with my better judgment. What else could I do but be honest?
"Easton I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss the experience of being with you. It was something else, no doubt about it. But things have changed. There's no getting around that. I told you how I felt last night. I need to get my priorities in order. Nothing's a given for me anymore. I have to earn my success. I really want to put my best foot forward with my career. You seemed to understand that last night. It's just not a good idea."
"Yes," he replied quietly, giving what I'd said some thought while rubbing my fingers with his. "Of course, you're right. It's not a good idea, assuredly. It would cross the line you set, which by the way, I totally respect and admire the fact that you're putting your career first, much like me, I suppose." His gray eyes studied me and my heart did a fast pitter-pat at the feel of his fingers intertwining with mine.
"I appreciate your understanding and thank you for noticing that I've taken this new role seriously. I don't want anything to jeopardize my ability to succeed," I said.
He was still holding fast to my fingers. My heart continued the pitter-pat rhythm.

"Absolutely," he replied, earnestly. "You're to be commended. Still," he said, his voice dropping an octave and his lips curling into that beautiful smile that couldn't be good for my pulse, "I just can't get that picture out of my head."
           Silence…
"What picture?" I asked finally, squirming just a tad in my seat.
"The picture of your beautiful face after I've used the crop and when my lips softly place those little butterfly kisses on that very special spot of yours."
           Oh holy Jesus!
"Which one?" I asked raising an eyebrow, immediately regretting it.
"The one right…here," he said softly, brushing his thumb against that sensitive area I had on my neck, an inch or two south of my earlobe. I knew the one. He continued to lightly caress it, his eyes growing darker.
"Ahh, yes," I said, remembering the way he'd made me tingle and my toes curl just with his soft kisses on that spot. "That spot."  I shifted uneasily.
Focus, Darcy. Disengage. I repeat: disengage!
"And then, you know, there's that other special spot of yours…," he murmured.
"Easton," I warned, my tone getting stern. I shifted nervously.
"You know the one, love? That very deep, sensitive spot inside of you that loves the feel of my fingers and cock rubbing against it. Such a shame you haven't had the pleasure of feeling my unsheathed cock. I'm betting my cock jewelry would likely put you over the edge. You've wondered about that, haven't you? When you're lying in bed at night, when the world gets slightly quieter as your imagination runs a little wilder…" His hand made its way to the nape of my neck, his fingers lightly drawing shapes across the sensitive skin. "I bet you have that night on replay, along with those thoughts of yours when you saw my piercing. And then you wonder what it would feel like to have it gently scrape your clit, slowly at first, but then I'd go a little faster. A little harder. Until I took it deeper and started all over again. And again."
By this time, I could feel the wet spot in my panties. My lips were dry, so I merely nodded in agreement.
"Oh," he said, smiling again, "Let's not forget those very enticing nipples of yours and the way they respond when I taste them, right before I take them full into my mouth to suck. Hard. Quite a rush, isn't it?"
           Oh God!
The server approached, setting our drinks down, ready to take our order.
"Darcy?" Easton nodded, as the server waited, poised to write my order down.
"Uh, nothing for me, I'm still full from lunch." He turned to Easton for his order.
           "Check please."

These Men (Spin-Off) M/F/M

And suddenly, there were another pair of hands in the mix. I hadn't heard Cain come in, but there he was, intent on joining us.
I felt his calloused fingertips gently rubbing my lower back, and smoothing down over my hips, where his thumbs hooked into the elastic band of my thong, and he slowly lowered it down, where it pooled around my feet on the bed.
Eli's mouth moved from mine, and I watched as Cain, already stripped down to his tee shirt and boxers, leaned in and captured Eli's lips with his, their tongues swirling together in a frenzied and familiar passion.
I watched, totally mesmerized by their rhythm and cadence, caught between them, and feeling the heat of their love wrapped around me like a cozy blanket.

About the Author:

I was born and raised in southern Ohio, and with the exception of a brief stint in Dallas, TX, have been an Ohioan most of my life.
