Book Description:

My story isn’t a love story … not the typical kind anyway.

As a lawyer, I’m used to discovery, but I never saw this one coming.

Every day, River gives me ten reasons to stay away, and then eleven reasons why I can't. Our relationship was to remain strictly business, or at least I tried.

Four years of marriage, and everything with Cole has changed. I never knew two people who lived together could be so distant. But I’m not ready to give up on him.

One man wants to break me.
The other is just trying to get even.

Both are lying to me.

Excerpt:

A knock sounds at my door, and Beatrice walks in with a bouquet of white tulips. “Looks like Cole wanted to wish you a Happy Birthday before his plane landed,” she remarks, placing the vase on my desk.

“Those are pretty,” I say, touching the base of my neck. Cole always gets me red roses. Always. Maybe this is his way of getting us out of our routine.

“Would you like to me run and grab us some lunch?” she asks after seconds of silence pass.

“I’m not feeling all that hungry today,” I answer honestly. Guilt should be a diet pill.

“Are you feeling okay?”

I sit up straight in my chair. “Yeah, it’s just been a long week, and I’m anxious for Cole to get home. Besides, I don’t want to ruin dinner.”

“Well, if you change your mind, I’m running to the deli on the corner. You know my number.”
I nod, focusing my attention on the flowers as she walks out. Anxious, I pull the envelope with my name penned on it and slip the card out. My heart drops.
Marley,
Last night didn’t go as planned, but I can’t say I regret a second of it … up until I let you walk away. I’m only sorry you felt the way you did after. I understand why you don’t want to see me, but if you decide you want a better man, you know where to find me. The offer I made last night stands.

R. Holtz

Happy Birthday, by the way.

Without a second thought, I slide the note through the shredder listening to proof of the biggest mistake I’ve ever made being torn to shreds.

          The flowers … they stay.

Cover Reveal ~ Chasing Spring by RS Grey

Title: Chasing Spring
Author: R.S. Grey
Release Date: Feb 1, 2016

Book Description:

I thought I’d left Blackwater, Texas behind for good. I didn’t belong in the small town, but my dad wouldn’t listen. He dragged me back home in his beat-up truck and dropped a bomb along the way: Chase Matthews was moving in with us. He was the golden boy of my high school, my former best friend, and the last person I wanted sleeping across the hall. His presence was too great a reminder of the ghosts I was trying to forget.

 I didn’t ask for a hero. I don’t want to be saved.

To me, Lilah Calloway meant late nights sneakin’ out, moonlit hair, and sparklers in July. She was my best friend until the day she left and I’d assumed Blackwater had seen the last of her. Then, like a tempest, she rolled back into town for the final half of senior year. The chopped hair and dark devil-may-care attitude warned most people away, but I knew if I fought hard enough, I could find the lost girl.

I didn’t want to be her hero. Some girls don’t need to be saved.

Women like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling are definitely the biggest inspirations for my writing, though I think my work tends to skew a bit smuttier than theirs.

Excerpt: Final Debt

“READY TO DIE, Nila?”

Cut’s voice physically hurt me as he forced me to my knees. The ballroom splendour mocked me as I bowed unwillingly at the feet of my executioner.
Velvet and hand-stitched crewel on the walls glittered like the diamonds the Hawks smuggled—a direct contrast to the roughly sawn wood and crude craftsmanship of the guillotine dais. No finesse. No pride. Just a raised podium, framework cushioning a large tarnished blade, and a rope dangling to the side.
“Don’t do this. Cut…think about what you’ve become. You can stop this.” My voice mimicked a beg but I’d vowed not to beg. I’d seen things, understood things, and suffered things I never thought I would be able to endure. I refused to cry or grovel. I wouldn’t give him that satisfaction.
“In five minutes, this will all be over, Weaver.” Cut bent to the side and collected a wicker basket.
The wicker basket.
I didn’t want to think about what its contents would be.
He placed it on the other side of the wooden block.
My lungs demanded more oxygen. My brain demanded more time. And my heart…it demanded more hope, more life, more love.
I’m not ready.
Not like this.
“Cut—”
“No. No more talking. Not after everything you’ve done.” Ripping a black hood from his pocket, he didn’t hesitate. No fanfare. No second guesses.
I cried out as the scratchy blackness engulfed my face, tightening by a cord around my throat.
The Weaver Wailer chilled me. The diamond collar that’d seen what I’d seen and whispered with phantoms of my slain family prepared to revoke its claim and detach from around my neck.
This was it.
The Final Debt.
Cut pushed my shoulders forward.
A heavy yoke settled over the top of my spine.
I closed my eyes.
I said goodbye.
I waited to die.

“I closed my eyes. I said goodbye…I waited to die.”

So…this is a bittersweet review to write, since August 2014, Pepper Winters has had me hanging on every word, eagerly awaiting this book and yet dreading it at the same time. When a series is this long and this intense you cannot help but get emotionally attached to the characters and emotionally attached I most certainly was. Even though not all these characters have a heart even the blackest and meanest can sometimes show that there is red blood in there somewhere. This is exactly what Pepper Winters has delivered with painstaking precision over this six book series. Anyone can be redeemed…if they want to.

“She was mine as much as I was hers. Now and for always. Alive or dead. We were one.”

This was a book of revelations, a history lesson in the genealogy of the Hawks and the Weavers, a battle of survival, redemption and the will they won’t they of the mother of all happy ever afters. Could the Hawks and Weavers ever co-exist without “The Debt.” Could the Debt Inheritance finally be broken or will Cut and Bonnie continue with their reign of terror over their families, the Weavers and the blood diamond industry? So many questions but I’m not answering any of them, you will just have to read for yourself.

“The eyes paint an awful picture, Nila, but the mind is far worse.”

For Jethro and Nila I wanted retribution, I wanted the evil to be extinguished with as much blood and guts as possible. I wanted them to be on the receiving end of what they had so fondly and happily delivered to all the Weaver women in the past, I wanted them torn from limb to limb. You may say that that is a powerful statement, but it is true. Pepper Winters has a powerful way with words and such is that power that I loathe some of these characters with such fervent passion I want to exact a few debts myself. The trouble with evil is that they seem to be able to dodge anything and everything, with the money behind them they have bought power, they are untouchable, but even the most fearless of warriors have an expiration date…or do they? I was on the edge of my seat waiting for their comeuppance, I was frantically waiting for Pepper to deliver…but did I get what I wished for?

“I’m fine.”
“You’re not.”
“I’ll live.”
“You better.”

Nila is one of the most strongest female characters I have read about. She was fearless, she was a warrior in her own right, yet she still kept her empathetic side. She could still find the good in the evillest of souls and she wore her heart on her sleeve despite the most awful of circumstances she constantly found herself in.

“Don’t let her win.”

Jethro Hawk was one person that never belonged at Hawksridge, despite being an empath he had always struggled to live up to what his father expected and once you get the history behind the relationship that he had with his father your eyes will be well and truly opened. Just the fact that he was still alive to tell the tale is a miracle in itself. The fact that he fought so hard to change who he was and couldn’t was heart breaking and the fact of what he had gone through to rid him of his empathetic nature was soul crushing, but he was strong, he was a survivor, he finally had something to fight for and that something was a someone…Nila.

“How many times had I asked her to trust me, only to shatter the trust me, only to shatter the trust she bestowed?”

This would be a fight to the death and only the strongest survive. Jethro and Nila versus the Hawks was a battle even the bravest wouldn’t have taken on, but when faced with life or death situations at every turn you will be surprised at just how resilient even the strongest of souls can be when the chips are down.

“This would kill me. But it had to be done. I stepped into the darkness and prepared to murder.”

Pepper Winters really went to town in this book, she poured everything into it. This has to be one of the best conclusions to a series I have ever read…expect the unexpected. Told in multiple POV’s with a few from unexpected characters this book certainly packs a punch with revelations galore, and with some unexpected twists this book will capture every part of your imagination. Vivid descriptions of good and evil will have your heart palpitating for many different reasons, tears of sadness and happiness will flow but most of all you will sit back and reflect on this amazing journey that Pepper Winters has taken you on, a rollercoaster of epic proportions and one that I am incredibly sad to disembark.

“I gambled both our lives to save so many more.”

The strength of Pepper Winters writing never ceases to amaze me and I will forever be eternally grateful to her for the sheer amount of hours she must have endured in research just to deliver this epic story. The plotting the scheming, the little intricacies that most would take for granted yet once you get the full picture you truly appreciate. Those hours and hours of dedication to this series really shone throughout this series and were totally delivered into the loudest and vivid of crescendos. This was a Pepper Winters masterpiece and she was going out with a bang.

“This is not a goodbye; this is a ‘see you soon.’”

This is one of my favourite series of all time and while I am sad that it is over I am appeased by the fact that some of the side characters may eventually get a story themselves. This is not written in blood by any stretch of the imagination but a girl can live in hope. So on that note, I am going to stand up and give Pepper Winters a standing ovation, with lots of bravos in there too and many bows. For someone to build up a series so much you always worry that the end will be a let-down but this wasn’t, it was a fitting end to one amazing story and a story that I will never, ever forget.

“Dedication versus empathy.”

Our Review:

“I can tell you I want to get to know you so much more. And I would like for you to know me well enough to believe me.”

This was one of those books I was asked to review and the cover spoke to me, I love finding a new author and for a debut book this was a fantastic read. So, I was looking through my calendar to see what I had coming up and I saw a release post for Where You Can Find Me, looked for the review copy but I hadn’t received it so I went and bought it anyways. This was a quick read at just over 200 pages and I flew through this book. It is fast paced and action packed, but it delivered, both in steam and suspense, so for me this a romantic suspense read that had me turning those pages furiously.

This book starts with a bang and the author really pulls you into Luella and Jack’s story from the start. Luella was living a quiet life, she was a scientist and worked all the hours she could to make her forget how lonely she actually was. She had her BFF but everyone, bar her brother that she had loved had gone, it was just her and Jameson, so she lived in fear of losing again and so she protected her heart with everything she had.

Her BFF, Evie was the hilarious and carefree soul everyone needs, she did her damnedest to pull Luella out into the real world and having persuaded her to go out clubbing so that she could get some “dick” Luella finds herself letting loose for once in her life. What Luella didn’t expect was to have a one-night stand in the club’s bathroom with a drop dead gorgeous stranger. Finding it hard to believe what she had let happen Luella flees the club, but the man in the bathroom is never far from her thoughts.

Jack was the mystery man in the bathroom, he was all kinds of awesome and I loved him from the get go. He was ex-military now working in security and investigations and was a little alpha, a little kinky but he had a heart of gold. He too could not forget the encounter he had with Luella in the bathroom and was gutted that she had left without a trace, he couldn’t stop thinking about her at all!!

When their paths cross once again these two can’t deny the undeniable chemistry between them and so begins a friendship and dates and a seeing where this goes to full blown lovers. From the start I felt their connection to each other but it always felt more lust than love and that is my only negative with this book. I wanted more from them on a deeper level. I wanted more of that emotional connection as the physical was seriously off the charts.

“…you love the hell out of me and you will never lose me. I’m like herpes. Never really gone.”

This book was also another one of my favourite reads…mystery and suspense, and the author delivered this too, with a serial killer on the loose and Jack helping with investigations it isn’t long before the both of them are dragged into this mystery whodunit. I had my suspicions from the start but didn’t see the end result and I have to say the way that the author covered up her tracks was great.

For a debut author this was accomplished writing, you would never guess just by reading and that was another positive with this read. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, couldn’t put it down and will certainly be reading this author again. Fantastic job for a debut.

About the Author:

I never thought I would ever write a book. I wasn't even really a reader until age twenty. But I picked up a romance novel and that was it for me. I fell in love. And then one day I stepped into this indie world of books and I started writing. Then I wrote enough to keep going. And then I had a book. Sometimes things happen when you least expect it, but it all falls into place. Writing is it for me.

I'm a stay at home mom with a degree in chemistry and biology. I LOVE science. If you get me started talking about biochemistry, it's all over. I'll rattle on for days! But I use all that knowledge to take care of my two little girls. Mostly while my husband is away being a soldier.

It's taken me a long time to get here, but I like it ... And I think I might stay a while.

“Peters liked fucking with me, but I liked it more.”

This book was just what the doctor ordered after a slew of emotional reads. This book had me in stitches, tears rolling down my face with laughter and was just a real feel good read. Yes, it does have a little angst to balance the content but this was one hilarious hate/love read. I love reading about college life, the Greek system, the jocks and nerds and this one ticked all the boxes all wrapped up in a huge dose of hilarity and one sassy but totally lovable heroine.

Sydney was one of a kind, when she transfers to Northern University studying media, she soon puts herself right into the heart of the University. She kept herself to herself but at night she became “the” campus radio personality Sunday Lane, a woman that had a no holds barred slot where anything and everything was fair game. The airing of campus dirty laundry and her witty underhanded barbs at anyone and everyone earned her more than her fair share of enemies but also a lot of avid followers. Radio though was not where her heart laid, she loved being a DJ, spinning discs and mashing up songs, she had a slot at a local club and she revelled in her time on stage.

Sydney was hilarious, she was sassy, she was feisty, she was hot headed and she could hold her own, but her sense of humour was off the charts and I just wanted to give her the biggest of fist bumps. If I could have a do-over, I would have loved to have been a Sydney. Sydney was also the over-protective and over-bearing big sister to her younger brother Jack. He had just joined Northern and was on the football team. As he was so young the coach had put him under the wing of Gray, the university manwhore. Fearing for her brothers safety, sanity and innocence mama bear comes out to play, especially as it seems that Sydney and Gray once had a one night stand, so they have history too.

“We had a one-night stand, and you made me feel cheap and dirty. I’d never felt so worthless in my life. You can go be with your whores, Peters, and you can go to hell, but I’ll be damned if you take my brother with you.”

Gray was the star quarter back and was used to getting exactly what he wanted, he was as hot as hell, charming to boot, but underneath that joking, manwhore, cannot be serious for one second demeanour was a man with a heart of gold. Also a man that cannot forget a one night stand two years ago. But now they are arch enemies, with pranks and plotting galore these two really go at each other full throttle, the gloves are off and what these two do to each other is unbelievable. But as we all know, there is a fine line between love and hate, but all these two have on their mind is REVENGE.

“Everyone has someone in their life they want to throttle one minute and make out with the next, and for me that was a petite dark-haired, snot mouth with an incredible capacity for evil.”

The chemistry between these two was palpable, even when they were hating each other the sparks and the connection was apparent for all to see and to see their relationship develop despite their best intentions not to was not only hilarious but actually heart warming. With secondary characters that play pivotal roles and all add to the overall fun factor of this book there is no shortage of love and laughs.

“That’s when I realized you didn’t have to have a lot of money to make something magical.”

While this is a standalone, this is the first book of a series and I am presuming that other characters are going to have their stories told and I cannot wait. If this book is anything to go buy I cannot wait to dive into the next instalment.

I have just read the much eagerly awaited book 7 of this brilliant series and what can I say other than it is just as outstanding as all the others.

In this book it has a gripping and very sensual and erotic story that grabs you from the first page. The two main characters Jax Chandler, Alpha to the Arestis Wolves and Katrina Livingston the sister of another alpha takes you through a journey of fated mates being kept apart by an evil enemy. But these two did not have Alpha blood in them for nothing, they fought tooth and claw against all the odds.

The story starts with the kidnapping of Jax and then it shows after being reunited with Katrina who he has always thought as his mate, the fight on their hands to put things right for Katrina, against everything that has been done to her in the last three years.

On this journey you read of their blistering attraction for one another and how Jax could not help himself when Katrina was around him

"Ah, yes." Katrina's energy surged. As his mouth went to her other breast, her pussy ached with need. So long she'd waited for his touch, and now she was certain she'd never be able to leave him.

These two are strong but Jax has the edge in being one very strong Alpha and you read how he gets Katrina to submit to him, but in the most erotic way possible, but it does not stop Katrina from showing Jax that the Alpha blood that runs through her does not mean she would submit entirely. She knew what she wanted and was not afraid to take the lead

“Her fangs distended, and like lightening she struck, her teeth slicing into his shoulder. She heard a faint cry as his powerful blood rushed down her throat. Before she knew what was happening, he'd broken free of his leather bonds and flipped her onto her back. "Forever," he repeated as he pounded into her. "Your mine. Forever."

and we must not forget the very sexy threesome which includes Jake, very hot.

I loved this book, it had a story that drew you right in from the get go with lots of very sexy loving. A book I could not put down. I recommend everyone to read and if you haven't read any of this series yet, do so, you won’t be disappointed.

Review ~ Suit (the twin duo #1) & Slut (the twin duo #2) by Jettie Woodruff

Book Description:

When my sister, Isabelle showed up, just ahead of a tropical storm, nostalgia and a need to reconnect took us on a ride…directly into the eye of a different kind of disaster. I woke from a coma unaware that I even had a twin and married to a man with two little girls. Although I fell madly in love with the children that I didn’t remember, I didn’t feel like I belonged with Paxton Pierce. I couldn’t be who he wanted me to be no matter how hard I tried. But things aren’t always as they seem. I fought my own demons, trying not to be the submissive he required me to be, yet I craved it like a drug. I wanted him.

Once upon a time I was an identical twin.
And then I wasn’t.

Book Description:

I thought losing my memory was the worst thing in the world. Forgetting who you are, and where you came from was like driving on a road with only right turns. All leading in the same direction. A direction I wanted to avoid, a dark tunnel that I had to enter if I ever wanted answers.

Losing my memory wasn’t the worst thing in the world. Learning, who I was, and the secrets I had kept was way worse. The unbearable pull and the passion we shared, mixed with the past that I didn’t want to remember, created a whole new storm. The perfect storm of two kinds of crazy. Stupid little fish.

“I was always the quiet one, the one who followed suit, doing what others told me to do.”

This was one of those series that I knew I needed to read in one hit, I had heard the whispers on the grapevine and I was glad that I had decided to read them together. The first book had me on the edge of my seat frantically page turning. What a mind f@@k!! This book had my head all over the place but in a really good way. An intricate storyline that will have you reading between the lines, assuming and then unassuming. Just when you think you know what is going on it isn’t and you are back to where you started…knowing nothing at all.

“I was the missing link, the broken one that didn’t fit anymore.”

I have to admit that in the beginning Paxton was a tough cookie to like, he came across as an obnoxious asshole, dominating, possessive and a touch sadistic. He lacked emotion and empathy, he was an empty vessel. But, and this is a huge BUT, I knew that there must have been a different side to him.

“You have everything to suit your needs, and I have you. My slut, to suit mine.”

Paxton was an amazing father and when you saw him with his kids you just knew that there was a different man underneath the charade. Having had the benefit of reading book two as well I am glad that I was proven correct, but by the end of book two (Slut) I adored him, despite his domineering ways.

Gabriella was Paxton’s wife and after a car accident she wakes up with amnesia. She doesn’t recognise her husband or her children and everything around her is alien and confusing. Gabriella struggles to fit back into her old life, especially with regards to Paxton and his emotionless ways. Everything seems to be a charade and she just wants to be Gabriella, but is the Gabriella that woke up the same Gabriella before the accident?

“I loved him, and I loved our magic. Even if it was all messed up. It was out and nothing could change that, until it could.”

With secrets and lies and little flickers of recollection slowly but surely coming through vivid dreams Gabriella thinks that she is slowly piecing together her life before and leading up to the accident that claimed her memory…or is it? Is everything as it seems?

“No, tell me truth. I’ve heard enough lies for a lifetime.”

Slut was not as intense as book one, Suit. Slut is what I call a book of revelations. A book where the past is finally revealed piece by little piece and secrets and truths are painfully divulged. Everything you thought you knew you don’t and what you thought was real was and wasn’t.

“Change the way you look at things and the things you look at will change.”

I loved how the past was revealed, I loved the transformation of Paxton and how we finally got to see the real him. For a man that I had loathed in the beginning I was glad my gut instinct had not let me down. He really puts himself out there in this book and I could understand why he was his emotionless self in Suit.

“We’re the perfect storm of two kinds of crazy.”

This was a book of second chances, a redo, how not to repeat the mistakes of the past when you are given the chance of a clean slate and a fresh future. I loved it.

“…I’m so stoked to make new memories.”
“I promise to make them better than the ones you forgot.”

I understand a Novella will be released in December. For this I am thankful, I still have a few questions that I hope will get answered…I cannot wait!!

Excerpt:

She pulls me into a limo. “Where are we going?” I ask. Not that I care. At this point, I’d go just about anywhere with this girl. She’s amazing. And I don’t just mean the sex—which was practically mind-blowing. She’s gorgeous and funny as shit.
“Vegas.”
“I’m surprised you’d want to go there after—” She grabs my lips in her fingertips and shuts them, giving me fish lips.
“Rule number one,” she says. “No talking about the past. Other than I’m going to say that the last two times I’ve been in Vegas have been big disappointments. Give me a minute. I need to make a call.”
“Who are you calling?”
“Carter Crawford. He doesn’t know it yet, but we’re going to borrow his plane. I happen to know he’s not leaving here until tomorrow afternoon. Do you know him?”
“The best man?” I ask. I consider telling her that I know Carter quite well, since he’s my brother, but I don’t. She wants a no-names-kind-of night. Which is funny considering everyone knows the actress Ashlyn Roberts, who’s well-known for her blockbuster movie roles, red carpet antics, and bubbly personality.
“After the breakup with Luke and before I started dating Zach, Carter took me to Vegas,” she says, causing me to tense up. Just the thought of her fucking anyone other than me—particularly my brother—threatens to rip me apart. How can I possibly feel so crazy jealous over her already? It was just sex. Wasn’t it? “I thought our trip would be romantic with a whole lot of hot and sweaty, you know, but nothing happened between us. His brother, Cade, is my agent, and he was just trying to cheer me up.”
I breathe easier, then let my lips graze down her neck. “If hot, sweaty, romantic Vegas is what you want, Hotass. It’s what you’ll get.”
“I need a wig though.”
“Why?”
“So no one recognizes me, silly. I have a fake ID. Sometimes, I just want to go out without it being a scene. Tonight is one of those nights.”
“I bet we can find you a wig in Vegas.”
“Ha, you’re right,” she says as I pull her on my lap and kiss her again.

We fuck on the plane.
Twice.
Drink some more.

When we land in Vegas, we go directly to a store where she sends me in to buy a wig.
“What kind?” I ask.
“Long and blond.”
“Hot,” I say.
“While you do that, I’ll get us set up in a hotel.”
When I get back in the town car, she tells the driver which hotel to take us to.
“I’ve never stayed here before,” she says, pulling on the wig. “You go get the key, okay? I told them your name was Harry Tripping and not to ask for ID.”
“That’s funny.”We ride the elevator to one of the upper floors and enter a sprawling suite. “Very nice. You have good taste.”
“Only the best for our wild one-night stand.”
A butler appears out of nowhere. “Anything you need?”
“Nothing he can’t give me,” she says, pulling on my tie and giving me a naughty grin.
I send the butler away then lead her over to the windows. “Look at this view.”
“Ohmigawd! Look! The Bellagio fountains are starting!” She leans against the glass and looks down. “Wow. This is kinda trippy.”
I push my hips into her ass, somehow ready for round—hell, I lost count. Two times at the wedding, a blow job in the limo, joined the mile high club twice, so round—six. Doesn’t matter though, my Johnson is raring to go. I wrap my arms around her waist, kiss her neck, and finger her while she watches the fountains rise. She reaches back and slides her hand down my pants.
“You’re hard again,” she says, seemingly surprised.
“You turn me on,” I whisper.
“Do me right here. I feel like I should say your name—but this is a still a no-names-kind-of night, right?”
“That’s what you wanted. I’m still calling you Hotass because, you”—I lift her skirt, slide off her panties, and slap her naked butt—“have a very hot ass.”
“Oh!” she says when I spank her. She guides me into her and as I start thrusting, she bends over more—putting her arms out and her hands flat against the glass.
“This is like a fantasy,” she says, moving against me in time with the fountains. “Do you think when they do the big finale you can come?”
“I’d rather make you come.”
“Spank me again, then.”
I pull back, but not out, giving myself just enough space to smack her ass before plunging deep inside her.
“Oh, god! Do it harder! Oh, fuck, yes. Yes. Yes. Yes!”
And just before the fountains stop, she collapses against the window.

“I Vegas love you.”

Jillian Dodd always delivers a cute romantic read, that is sweet but extremely entertaining and Vegas Love is no different. With fantastic characters, explosive chemistry and the glitz and glamour that she has made her own Jillian Dodd delivers a fairy-tale romance that will leave you smiling from ear to ear with a warm glow in your heart.

Ashlyn was a Hollywood actress who was highly successful and had jumped from meaningless relationship to meaningless relationship. The only meaning in said relationships was what her persona and contacts could bring to the male specimen on her arm. She was used over and over again and the magic of the fairy-tale romance was quickly losing its appeal, she just wanted to be loved and be in love. Men had finally left her a little jaded so for now she was going to enjoy herself…starting at her friend’s wedding.

“…just because I look perfect on the big screen, doesn’t mean I’m perfect in real life. The makeup and lighting hide all my cracks.”

Cash was an attorney who was relocating from Seattle to work with his brother. He was drop dead gorgeous, confident, cocky a bit of a joker but extremely loveable.  He is due to attend the same wedding but his flight comes in late and he misses the majority of it. As he is walking in he sees Ashlyn who was moping in her own pity party with a bottle of champagne. They chat, have a laugh and decide to be spontaneous and have a night of fun…Vegas!! What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas…until it doesn’t.

“You know, I think you’ve been smoothing out my edges since I met you.”

With a night of fun and frolics and a wedding these two really hit it off, but will they get the quickie divorce they promised or will their undeniable attraction and chemistry win through? With Hollywood glitz and glamour and sharks that would stab you in the back if it made some $$ the pitfalls of Hollywood are shown in all its technicolour glory.

“They want to see me happy, and you, Hotass, make me happy.”

This book had me in hysterics as well as swooning. Jillian Dodd delivers a fun read that was quick, easy and un-put-down-able. With some fantastic side characters that I would love to learn more about the Crawford brothers have certainly made an impact. While this book was insta-love it was by no means irritating, these two took the time to get to know one another and their relationship blossomed before your eyes. Once again, another fun, super swoony read from Jillian Dodd.

Excerpt:

My doorbell rang.

What?

I looked at the clock and realized it was already 7:30.

So that meant it was Beckett on the other side of the door.

Shit.

I looked down at my half-naked body.

Shit!

And then I started freaking out.

“I’ll be right there!” I yelled.

Should I let him in?

But I was practically naked!

I couldn’t let him see me like this!

Maybe I should own it. Shake my hips and let him get a look at the goods.
Like that would ever happen.

Crap, what was I going to wear?

I grabbed a pair of jeans from my floor and wiggled them on, not really paying attention to which ones they were.

I reached into my closet and pulled the closest shirt off the rack. I tied my hair into a ponytail and slipped on a comfortable pair of ballet flats.

I hoped Beckett hadn’t planned on five-star dining because I was dressed more for a McDonalds milkshake before hanging with the bowling league.

“Sorry,” I said, out of breath, opening the door and letting Beckett inside.

“I was starting to think I needed to break in and make sure you hadn’t gotten stuck in the toilet or something.” Beckett looked damn near perfect in a dark pair of jeans and button-up blue shirt the same color as his eyes.

He had even gotten a haircut. Way to make me feel like a total underachiever in the getting ready department, buddy.

“Looks like you cut yourself,” I said, indicating the piece of toilet paper stuck to his chin.

“Fuck. I forgot about that,” he muttered, pulling it off, looking embarrassed.

“You should have left it there. It’s cute,” I teased, putting on my black wool coat.

“You ready?” he asked.

“As I’ll ever be.” I gave him a wide smile and he laughed.

“I’m not taking you to your death by firing squad. You could act a bit more excited.”

I jumped up and down, clapping my hands together. “OMG, Beck! I can’t wait!” I gasped.

“Is that better?” I asked, closing my apartment door behind me and locking it.

“Much.” Beckett leaned down and I swear he was checking out my ass.

“Excuse me, but what in the hell are you doing?” I demanded.

“Are you aware that the Cheshire cat is on your right butt cheek?”

I craned my body to get a look at what he was talking about. And sure enough, there was a bright purple patch with the damn Cheshire cat on my derriere.

“I must have picked up the wrong jeans,” I groaned. These were my hanging-out-doing-laundry jeans. Not meant to be seen by anyone but myself and the cat.

“I was in a rush. I couldn’t figure out what to wear. It was stressful,” I tried to explain, pulling my coat down over my feline-covered bum.

“The last thing I want is to stress you out, Cor-Cor.”

I smacked his arm. “I thought I warned you about using that damn nickname,” I threatened.

“I show up with toilet paper stuck to my face and you have a cat on your butt. I think we make a pretty awesome pair,” Beckett snickered, unlocking his car.
