NEW RELEASE ★★ Counting On You is LIVE! ★★
Book Description:
From New York Times Bestselling Author, J.C. Reed, and Jackie Steele comes a new standalone novel.
I have everything I want.
Success. Wealth. Women…and make that plenty of those. As a filthy-rich CEO, I would say I’m pretty much close to perfection. Except for that one weakness: I’m cocky as hell, and an irresistible magnet for women.
So when one tiny mistake lands me in hot waters with the investors, I have one hell of a choice to make:
Restore my reputation…
Or risk losing my company.
I’m a man of my word and failure is not an option. Not now. Not ever. I fully intend to uphold my responsibilities.
Sharing an apartment should be easy, right? And it’s only for six weeks.
That’s what I thought before I found out that my new roommate is female.
And wow.
Vicky Sullivan is unlike any woman I’ve ever met.
She’s hot as sin, and crazy.
Definitely not my kind of crazy, but too hot to pass up.
There’s something about her that makes me rage with want.
I don’t like her, but obviously my dick does. And what he wants, he gets.
Six weeks…
Living together shouldn’t be too hard…
Until my best friend challenges me to a bet…
I make it my mission to make her mine.
There’s only one problem.
I have to break…Every. Single. Rule.
And did I mention she’s completely off-limits?
It’s too late to say no.
Author’s note – Counting On You is a full-length, standalone novel with no cliffhanger.

“Remembering you is easy. It’s letting
go that’s the hard part…”
Counting on You was a book that caught my attention from the
synopsis, however, what I thought I was getting and what I actually read were
two very different things, but in a very good way. JC Reed and Jackie Steele
deliver a unique concept to me and one that had me in hysterics just as much as
I found myself swooning. For a light hearted read this book still had that
emotional pull that I love and delivered some really touching scenes amongst
the comedic ones. This was a great all-round read that will have something for
everyone.
Kaiden Wright (Kade) was a man that had built his company
from the ground up and was hugely successful, in the climb he needed investors
that now made up his board. Kade’s personal life was just what you would expect
from a millionaire playboy, different girl every night, no repeats and living
the life…but when this starts to interfere with the company’s reputation the
board intervenes and sends him to a clinic for his apparent “sex addiction.”
“They see what they want to see.
The troubled bad boy who needs the right woman to change him. What they don’t
realize is that I’d never change for anyone—unless I did it for myself.”
Vicky Sullivan is a nurse, with a heart of gold and the
propensity to love like no other. Jane Austen is her go to author and she lives
the lives of many “book boyfriends” …she is a dreamer, a fantasist, the ideal
candidate for the 2.4 children and the white picket fence. When her ex, Bruce
dumps her, she takes it hard and in her quest for answers gets slapped with a
restraining order…when she breaches it, she too is sent to the clinic…for love
addiction.
“I’m going to teach you that love
is overrated and sex is a cure.”
Kade and Vicky are roommates and this is where the story
starts. From the minute these two meet I was either laughing or swooning. The
instant connection that these two had was heart-warming and these two were
truly there for one and other. Sounding boards, their own therapists, but when
you find someone that you click with that makes it easy to off-load, you know
you have found someone special.
“…because deep down love addicts
just need a little fucking and the sex addicts just need a bit of love, each of
us learning something along the way. That sounds pretty convincing. I feel like
I’m getting cured already.”
This was a relationship that starts off as friends and
confidantes and while it soon morphs to more it seemed a natural progression.
Never once did I feel a dependency but just two people who clicked. Kade
delivered the no-filter answers that Vicky needed and Vicky gave Kade something
he never knew he wanted…love.
“To get over one addiction you
have to become addicted to something else.”
“To what, for example?”
“To me…Become addicted to me.”
This was a great read for me, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The
shenanigans were entertaining and the warm and fuzzies plentiful. The chemistry
was palpable and the sexy times…seriously hot. These two characters made it
easy to fall in love with them and while on the outside they couldn’t be more
different on the inside they were made for each other. Little angst and drama
to season the pot but none too overly dramatic. Loved it.
