This is an impressive first book of which I hope to be a superb series.

The story is engrossing, a real page turner. The characters are believable, making you root for the two main characters, Dana and Cooper, with the other people that surround them rounding out this story. Also, it is very loving but also erotic with intense lovemaking between Dana and Cooper.

In the story Dana finds herself having to make the very hard decision of leaving her pack and her twin brother, Darin, the Alpha of the Whiskey Hollow Pack. Because of her disastrous mating with Ross, now dead, a political mating made by her parents, it has left her magic which runs through her veins out of control and she is frightened that she will go rogue and hurt her brother and her pack that she loves so much.

Dana has decided to move out to the neutral zone much to Darin's dismay but she is adamant. It is there she first comes into contact with Cooper. It is the start of a very loving and passionate relationship, but also brings out in them a fierce determination to fight for what is right.

Although the relationship starts out rocky it has all the making of a true bond and with very sexy lovemaking.

“He dipped his head and pressed a kiss to one nipple and then the other before he nipped his way down her stomach to the inside of her right thigh. A half-growl, half-moan escaped her when he gently bit down.”

Not only has the book the loving it also has the evil threatening the pack and gives the book the suspense which keeps you turning the pages. Ms Davis, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will be looking forward to reading Book 2. A really superb story.
